Lagardère and Bevco secure exclusive Julius Nyerere T3 duty free concession

The Lagardère Travel Retail stores will feature core duty free categories along with travel accessories, souvenirs and snacks.
Lagardère Travel Retail and local partner Bevco Limited have been awarded an exclusive concession to operate two duty free stores at the new Julius Nyerere International Airport Terminal 3 in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania.


The French travel retailer, which already has an African presence in Senegal and Gabon is hoping to further capitalise on the region’s ‘resilience, attractiveness and air traffic’.

Lagardère Travel Retail and the Tanzanian spirits distributor have partnered exclusively to build and operate the new stores at Dar es Salaam International Airport, one of the region’s most dynamic hubs, according to the retailer.

Spanning 206sq m and 160sq m respectively, the outlets will feature core duty free categories, along with travel accessories, souvenirs and snacks.

DIVERSIFYING THE OFFER
Lagardère notes that its Aelia Duty Free shopping concept will significantly improve the passenger experience in the airport and diversify the offer. The shop will feature a range of local brands reflecting Tanzanian culture, architecture and cuisine and create a strong sense of place.
