ATCL: Another Richmond!

Hakika tutauwa watanzania hivi hivi tunaona.

The situation is dire.

Mnachotakiwa kufanya mnakijua, kifanyeni haraka.

"tumewaita hamkuja, tumeimba hamkuitikia, na tumepiga ngoma hamkucheza"....

Naunga mkono hoja.
Ni vema kuacha mara moja mtindo wa kuteua bali tuige kenya airways kwa kuendesha interview kwa executives ili apatikane mtu .Based on competency.

Hawa jamaa labda wananchi wawapige mawe vinginevyo tusitegemee kama wang'oka wenyewe.

Hapa JF tumepiga kelele muda mrefu nadhani aliyewateua amesikia ingawa hachukui hatua yoyote.

Hawa jamaa wana historia ya kuharibu kila wanapoongoza na muda si mrefu hapo ATC itakapokufa tena utasikia wamehamia kwenye kampuni nyingine ya umma.

I have very bad feelings; there is a threat of massive lawsuit and na vitu vingine ambavyo nikivisema vitasababisha ubaridi upite kwenye uti wa mgongo wa mtu... wao wanajua and they better know that I know what they know. Wajiuzulu wenyewe au wafukuzwe. Ni ushauri tu wa rafiki.

Kweli itabidi tufike sehemu tuanze kuwapiga mawe, kwavisha matairi shingoni kuwamwagia petrol na kuwapiga kiberiti, hawa ni kengewatu wabaya kuliko kenge mwitu.

Govt negotiates ATCL privatisation

Negotiations between the government and a foreign strategic investor on the privatisation of the national flag carrierAir Tanzania Corporation Limitedare at an advanced stage, it has been learnt.

Infrastructure Development deputy minister Hezekiah Chibulunje revealed the plans on Wednesday, moments after inaugurating the refurbished Tanzanite Lounge at the Julius Nyerere International Airport (JNIA).

The USD 350,000 facility, with the capacity of accommodating more than 100 passengers at a time, has been designed for first and business class passengers.

``Information about the ATC privatisation process is currently at government level. We are now holding talks with the Chinese firm on the possibility of taking over. We are yet to reach agreement. Members of the public will be informed of the outcome,`` he said.

The minister, however, declined to name the potential investor, but only said he said would come from China.

He said the move was geared towards boosting the efficiency of the state-owned national air carrier, being in line with government`s mission to improve the aviation sector.

``The privatization deal we are about to enter is part of government efforts of promoting the aviation sector.

An efficient national air carrier and modern facilities at major airports determine the development of any country in the world,`` he said.

When reached for comments, ATCL chief executive officer David Mattaka said he had no idea concerning the move.

ATC was established in March 1977 after the collapse of East African Airways and other regional institutions previously under the ill-fated East African Community.

In 2002, ATC was taken over by South African Airways before the government reclaimed all its shares in 2006.

Disengagement documents between ATCL and SAA were signed in Johannesburg on August 29, 2006.

The short-lived marriage was ended after the alleged dismal performance of the South African investor.

Haya, tuanzie wapi kuhakikisha kuwa this time mkataba unabeba maslahi ya nchi?

least we forget, Watanzania ndivyo tulivyo

CCM government have forgotten the question of National security, these dickheads are going blindly and exposing a country for a saleout (for sale); in their heads and brains all is money which is being reflected. Are they asking themselves how the Chinese can control us once they have controlled us in a Railway which they are taking and the Air. Countries like China are rogue states they are known of their own mismanagements in their countries.

Why this deal and such other deals are kept secret? Why not advertise in international journals/ papers so that we can get competitive deals from abled investors? We must forget our own country, is very dissapointing to see the people we trusted are selling this country.

I didn't even assimilate when they mentioned the USD 350,000 lounge; which even Mr. Mengi or Manji can build. Where are we going? I remember during the joint venture with SA the confederation of Tanzania Chamber of Business and Agriculture was denied a chance to invest in ATCL siting management problems. In case if our problem is money why don't we hire a management? How much the Chinese will invest? The Chinese have relied in Western technology and we are seeking such technologies from the third parties!

The same/similar richmond story; instead of buying power plants from GE or Kwasaki we are looking for Ricmondi/Gire to buy for us from third parties.

We are going too far and out of control this country should be saved from the dogs! !!

Duh, tayari twatafta mlaji mwingine kabla hata wenyewe hatujajipanga namna ya kwenda mbele.... yameishia wapi yale ya kufufua shirika including:
1. Dash 8s
2. A219
3. tripu za nje na Dodoma?

ebo, yaani.......................

I tell you we are getting shagged left and right! It seems as if our bureaucratic and aristoctratil leadership believes in selling everything in the name of free market economy.

Haven't they learnt a lesson from all privatisation schemes that left Tanzania dead poor?

Can they go back and see what happened at TRC?

They have stolen money by leasing a mulfunctioning plane which sits at JKNIA sucking up Dar's heat, dust and humidity, more rusting, now they have had their share of making money, they are looking for a buyer, then in 2 years, we will create KamatiTume kuchunguza uuzaji wa shirika la ndege.

I will send one message, stop selling the country, stop selling the companies, infact the sells are done with sale, thus we are cominfg out empty handed.

Instead of focusing on better ways to become productive and strong self managemnt, we are selling everything at discount!

Do you all rememeber when I stated we should privatize Ikulu?

Zito and Dr. Slaa, are you seeing this? Ask these guys they are bringing foreigners to takeover ATCL, TANESCO, TRC, TAZARA, DAWASCO etc by which reason? These companies can be profitable even if they will be given to Tanzanians. In case if we have capital problems there is Dar Stock Exchange and other institutions which can bank such facilities. There is a question on not trusting your own people, CCM, are you the fighting for whose interests in this country? All the time the Government of CCM had a stupid reason of neglecting its own people in taking over such companies; that was poor management. But How can we go along not trusting our own indigeneous management?

CCM and your government must trust your own people and fight for the interest of your Nation. Can you reveal in the first place how much the Chinese are going to invest (to put forward); or you have accepted bottles of wine in exchange of national interests? I remember Emirates was one of the bidders in the past takeover which went to South Africa.

What is wrong with us (Africans)?
