Arsenal (The Gunners) | Special Thread

Dah! Arsnl spoiled ma day yesterday! We have too many offensive players. Hata wengine hawajui wa-take positions gani at wot time..... probleme! Tunakuwa wakali hasa tunapokutana na timu ambazo hazina defense nzuri. But any team that can defend and attack ni tishio kwa arsnl. UUUuuuwiiii!

Kids needs to grow up!

wao makosa yao yale yale tu ukiwasukuma kidogo ujue umeshinda mechi.

hivi umestukia mara nyingi tukifungwa anakuaga na comments za ajabu ambazo zinawafanya wachezaji wake wasifanye mabadiriko yoyote ya kutafuta ushindi kwenye game zijazo.jamaa hawafokei wala nini na anashindwa kuadress the negative side of the game in a serious way huwa ana focus more kwenye positive side.

Makocha wengi wako hivyo! Ila Wenger comments zake hazijengi kabisa kama uliangalia jana baada ya goli la tatu Frabegas was so flabbergasted kama captain ingebidi aongeze spirit ya wachezaji wenzake lakini yeye wala, akachoka kabisa...something is wrong pale. Wenger asajili wachezaji wenye majina watoto wa 15 needs time to cope na big games!

Dreaming for the best from Arsenal

Carling Cup: Manchester City v Arsenal

Wednesday, 2 December 2009 15:01

Emmanuel Adebayor will renew rivalries with his old club Arsenal as Manchester City look to reach the Carling Cup semi-finals.

The Togo front-man scored and also picked up a three-match ban for an ugly clash with Robin van Persie when the two sides met earlier this season, since when Adebayor has struggled for form.

Kolo Toure is also in line to face his former club as City look to end a run of seven successive quarter-final defeats since they last reached the semi-finals of a major competition, the 1981 FA Cup.

Gareth Barry has been experiencing slight discomfort from separate injuries to groin and knee but Hughes is confident the England midfielder will be fit.

Arsene Wenger is set to again test the depth of his Arsenal squad.

Philippe Senderos and veteran Mikael Silvestre are likely to start in defence to provide some experience, while fit-again Lukasz Fabianski should return in goal.

Youngsters Carlos Vela, Aaron Ramsey, Jack Wilshere, Sanchez Watt, Fran Merida - who scored against Liverpool in the last round - plus Craig Eastmond and reserve captain Kyle Bartley are all in contention.

Man City team (from): Given, Taylor, Richards, Zabaleta, Toure, Lescott, Onuoha, Bridge, Garrido, Wright-Phillips, De Jong, Kompany, Johnson, Ireland, Barry, Robinho, Bellamy, Adebayor, Tevez, Santa Cruz, Benjani.

Arsenal provisional squad: Fabianski, Gilbert, Senderos, Silvestre, Coquelin, Eastmond, Ramsey, Merida, Wilshere, Watt, Vela, Szczesny, Randall, Frimpong, Bartley, Sunu, Cruise, Emmanuel-Thomas.

Bordeaux have warned prospective suitors, including Arsenalhttp://goal.com/en-gb/teams/england/94/arsenal, that forward Marouane Chamakh is not for sale.

It is widely believed that long-time admirer Arsene Wenger had been preparing a January transfer bid for the Moroccan, as he looks for a replacement for long-term absentee Robin Van Persie.

Bordeaux chairman Jean-Louis Triaud, however, has refuted any suggestion that Chamakh will be heading to the Emirates in the near future.

"I have no news about that," Triaud told L'Equipe, when asked about Arsenal's interest.

"Anyway, for us it is out of the question. Marouane is such a decisive player while we have important challenges in Le Championnat [the French league] and Champions League."

Chamakh is available on a Bosman free transfer at the end of the season, but Triaud reiterated the player's importance to coach Laurent Blanc's plans.

"If we miss our aims because he was sold, we would lose money too. Anyway we won't do anything against the wishes of Laurent Blanc," he added.

Arsène Wenger admits he plans to buy a striker in January

Arsène Wenger has admitted that Robin van Persie's long-term ankle injury will force him to search for a replacement striker during the January transfer window. The Arsenal manager , who is generally wary of the mid-season window, associating it with desperate measures, said he would only do business if any deal were viable. But for the first time since the full extent of Van Persie's injury became clear, he conceded that it had affected his thinking.
"It has to," he said. "It has to because I didn't feel we were in the need to buy anybody, but we will be out on the market, that is for sure. But we will only make a decision if it suits us." Wenger's words will be welcomed by many of the club's supporters who saw him sell Emmanuel Adebayor to Manchester City over the summer but choose not to replace him. He instead put his faith in Van Persie, Nicklas Bendtner, Eduardo da Silva and Carlos Vela. All four, though, have suffered injuries, with Van Persie's the most demoralising.

Van Persie was hurt while playing for Holland against Italy last month following a challenge from Giorgio Chiellini, the motives of which Wenger has now questioned. "I watched the tackle of Chiellini again; it looked anonymous but it's not as anonymous as it looks at the start and in between [the Holland forward] Dirk Kuyt has come out and said that they were kicked by the Italians," Wenger said. "In such an important season for us we lose players in friendlies on tackles like that and it is really difficult to accept." Chiellini has denied any malicious intent.

Van Persie was diagnosed by the Dutch FA's doctors to have suffered a partial ligament tear but after further tests by Arsenal's medics, the ligaments were revealed to have been severed. He has been ruled out for five months, virtually the remainder of the domestic season.

Bendtner, who has not played since the beginning of last month because of groin surgery, is not expected to return until Christmas at the earliest.

Wenger's interest in the Bordeaux striker Marouane Chamakh is well documented, although a January deal appears unlikely. His other targets include André-Pierre Gignac of Toulouse, Milan's Klaas-Jan Huntelaar and Mario Balotelli of Internazionale. Sampdoria's Giampaolo Pazzini is another Serie A striker on Wenger's radar.

Arsenal face Manchester City at Eastlands in the Carling Cup quarter-final tonight and because of injuries, Wenger's team will be even more experimental than that which beat Liverpool in the previous round. The 17-year-old midfielder Jack Wilshere, a loan target for Celtic, will start.
