And one day, they — and your sons and daughters — will tell their own children about what we did together in this election. They’ll tell them how this time, we listened to our hopes instead of our fears. How this time, we decided to stop doubting and to start dreaming.”


I have been following US Presidencial campaigns and i think there are alot to learn from our fellows.One important thing is that wives of presidential candidates do also play a very crucial part in campaigns.

They have a big role in making a candidate a successful one or not as they also tell their fellow Americans what they should know about their husbands.It is more than a campaign since they have to go further than just asking for votes for their husbands and embark on a exposing who the candidates are as their husbands and fathers of their children at home.

Michelle Obama, the wife of Barak Obama did that today and her speech was real inspiring.She did not just built the image of her husband but she also told Americans who truly Barak Obama is.

I suppose its time we have those who want to become our first lady a role to play during campaigns and they should tell us exactly everything about their husbands.We should also remember that a first lady has her national role to play so she has to exhibit a higher level of commitment and motivation.

I enjoyed Michelle's speech, US First Lady to be.

For me this is a season of hope -- new hope for a justice and fair prosperity for the many, and not just for the few -- new hope.

And this is the cause of my life -- new hope that we will break the old gridlock and guarantee that every American -- north, south, east, west, young, old -- will have decent, quality health care as a fundamental right and not a privilege.

We can meet these challenges with Barack Obama. Yes, we can, and finally, yes, we will.

Barack Obama will close the book on the old politics of race and gender and group against group and straight against gay.

And Barack Obama will be a commander-in-chief who understands that young Americans in uniform must never be committed to a mistake, but always for a mission worthy of their bravery.

We are told that Barack Obama believes too much in an America of high principle and bold endeavor, but when John Kennedy called of going to the moon, he didn't say it's too far to get there. We shouldn't even try.

Our people answered his call and rose to the challenge, and today an American flag still marks the surface of the moon.

Yes, we are all Americans. This is what we do. We reach the moon. We scale the heights. I know it. I've seen it. I've lived it. And we can do it again.


There is a new wave of change all around us, and if we set our compass true, we will reach our destination -- not merely victory for our Party, but renewal for our nation.

And this November the torch will be passed again to a new generation of Americans, so with Barack Obama and for you and for me, our country will be committed to his cause. The work begins anew. The hope rises again. And the dream lives on

Police Uncover Possible Barack Obama Assassination Plot By "Sons Of Silence" Member Tharin Gartrell

Local police in Denver have stumbled upon an alleged plot to assassinate presumptive Democratic presidential nominee Barack Obama with a high-powered rifle on national television at his outdoor acceptance speech in Denver Thursday night. On a routine drunk driving stop last night in Denver suburb Aurora, Colorado, police found the following evidence in the rented truck of Tharin Gartrell , a 28-year-old convicted felon and member of biker group Sons of Silence (pictured): two high-powered scoped rifles, ammunition, sighting scopes, radios, a cellphone, a bulletproof vest, wigs, methamphetamine and fake IDs. One of the rifles was listed as stolen by the FBI.

When Gartrell told the police the weapons belonged to his friend Nathan Johnson, 32, police went to Johnson's hotel and arrested him and his girlfriend, Natasha Gromack, on drug charges. At the same time, they went to the hotel of his associate Shawn Robert Adolph, 33, to question him. When the police arrived, Adolph attempted to escape through a six-story window and broke his ankle. When he was apprehended, he held a handcuff key in one hand and wore a swastika ring on the other. When Johnson was questioned by police, he told them that Gartrell and Adolph planned to kill Obama on Thursday during his acceptance speech at Invesco Field. The U.S. Attorney's office has scheduled a press conference for 4:30 Central Time today to address developments. Below is a news report on the arrests from Denver CBS affiliate KCNC.

The Italian edition of Vanity Fair said that it had found George Hussein Onyango Obama living in a hut in a ramshackle town of Huruma on the outskirts of Nairobi.

Mr Obama, 26, the youngest of the presidential candidate's half-brothers, spoke for the first time about his life, which could not be more different than that of the Democratic contender.

"No-one knows who I am," he told the magazine, before claiming: "I live here on less than a dollar a month."
According to Italy's Vanity Fair his two metre by three metre shack is decorated with football posters of the Italian football giants AC Milan and Inter, as well as a calendar showing exotic beaches of the world.

Vanity Fair also noted that he had a front page newspaper picture of his famous brother - born of the same father as him, Barack Hussein Obama, but to a different mother, named only as Jael.

He told the magazine: "I live like a recluse, no-one knows I exist."

Embarrassed by his penury, he said that he does not does not mention his famous half-brother in conversation.

"If anyone says something about my surname, I say we are not related. I am ashamed," he said.

For ten years George Obama lived rough. However he now hopes to try to sort his life out by starting a course at a local technical college.

He has only met his famous older brother twice - once when he was just five and the last time in 2006 when Senator Obama was on a tour of East Africa and visited Nairobi.

The Illinois senator mentions his brother in his autobiography, describing him in just one passing paragraph as a "beautiful boy with a rounded head".

Of their second meeting, George Obama said: "It was very brief, we spoke for just a few minutes. It was like meeting a complete stranger."

George added he was no longer in contact with his mother and said:"I have had to learn to live and take what I need.

"Huruma is a tough place, last January during the elections there was rioting and six people were hacked to death. The police don't even arrest you they just shoot you.

"I have seen two of my friends killed. I have scars from defending myself with my fists. I am good with my fists."
