Zimbabwean preacher and Presidential Envoy and Ambassador-at-Large Uebert Angel has threatened to physically assault fellow prophets who make death predictions about public figures.
In a video circulating online from what is identified as his Sunday church service on 11 October 2026, Angel repeatedly threatens violence against prophets he accuses of making false death prophecies, including predictions about Member of Parliament Scott Sakupanya.
“We will beat you. I did not say we’ll pray for you. No, we will hit you,” Angel says in the recording.
Angel also tells police to look to him if they find a prophet who has been beaten, adding that he would pay the legal costs of those involved.
The remarks have drawn attention to the conduct of a prominent religious leader who also holds a diplomatic appointment representing Zimbabwe abroad.
