US Election Coverage 2008

Unaposema "Mijitu Myeusi" are you including yourself pia incase you are black and you are living in America? Ama ni specific group of individuals?

Nyani, naona hii wikendi unahitaji kupumzika! maana una hasira sana!
Sasa huyu Tavis Smiley (hilo jina tayari ni kichekesho!) hebu tujiulize ni nani, na je unajua bifu yake na Obama? Hawa ma-braza wana wivu sana. tatizo siyo Obama supporters but Tavis na wenzake ambao siku zote wanatafuta sababu za kumponda Obama - Andrew Young 'Oh he is not black enough!' Tavis "he is not compatriot with the brothers because he doesn't attend MY event' mara Bill Clinton says Obama is just another black candidate, mara Rev Wright makes Obama a Black Panther activist.
Tatizo ni kwamba all these black men and wanna-bes like WJC (aka Bill) are jealous because Obama is currently doing well without them, thank you. But he EARNED it. and they have to learn to live with it.
Unajua Nyani whether Obama gets the nomination or not, he will remain the most influential person in the Democratic party, na watamtegemea sana kushinda majimbo, tu-raise money and galvanize his base including hundreds of thousands of volunteers in GOTV. The man has made history, and Travis will be a footnote.

Haya Nyani, hebu mwone hubbie wake HRC na mama wanavyotumia vibaya hela za umma:
The Clintons have made a $100-million fortune since leaving the White House, but a Politico analysis found that hasn’t kept Bill Clinton from taking full advantage of the publicly funded perks offered to ex-presidents.

In fact, his presidential retirement benefits cost taxpayers almost as much as those of the other two living ex-presidents combined.

The price tag for Clinton’s federal retirement allowance from 2001 through the end of this year will run $8 million, compared to $5.5 million for George H. W. Bush’s and $4 million for Jimmy Carter’s during the same period.

Since 2001, Clinton has received more of almost every benefit available to former presidents — from his pension to his staff’s salaries and benefits to supplies. His $420,000 phone bill and $3.2 million office rent tab both nearly surpassed the totals rung up for those purposes by Bush, Carter and the late former presidents Gerald Ford and Ronald Reagan combined. As a group, they spent $484,000 on telephone service and $3.8 million on rent in the same span.

NN inabidi uweke siasa pembeni kwa muda watu watie timu Magic City kidogo unasemaje?
You all have a wonderful weekend....

Barack Obama is gaining steadily on Hillary Clinton among Democratic superdelegates, nearly erasing her last advantage in a presidential race where those party insiders could be the ultimate kingmakers.

In a danger sign for Clinton, Obama over the past few months has sharply cut her lead among superdelegates -- nearly 800 elected officials and party leaders free to back any candidate.

"Obama has won more delegates, he's won more votes, he's raised more money, and now you see it happening with superdelegates too,"

Despite heavy courting by Clinton, most of the superdelegates who made up their minds since January backed Obama. Clinton's superdelegate lead dwindled to about 30 from 100 in that time.

Mimi nasema Mama ana matatizo na campaign yake : with friends like these who needs enemies shuold be her moto, sasa naona mzee anazidi kumvuruga:
Former President Bill Clinton gave a passionate defense Thursday of his wife’s claim about “landing under sniper fire” — just as the damaging controversy was dying down.

Bill Clinton said the news media treated her like she had “robbed a bank” and claimed she was experiencing end-of-day fatigue, even though she had made the claim in morning speeches.

Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton (D-N.Y.) acknowledged two weeks ago that she “misspoke” and “made a mistake” in her overly vivid account of the 1996 landing in Tuzla, Bosnia, during a goodwill mission as first lady.

Video of a tranquil arrival ceremony refuted the claim, and her comments hurt her struggling campaign by reviving questions about her candor.

Now, her husband has revived the issue by claiming the comments were true during a “Solutions for America” campaign event in at Boonville High School in Boonville, Ind

Amechemka....

Wee! Nani amechemka? Hillary amechemka! Hata makofi kapigiwa mara moja tu! Alafu issue ya kuthrow Gore and Kerry under the bus imenishangaza sana! Sasa anawaita elitist na anadai Gore lost because of his elitism?!!
She's out of her mind! Anafikiri atapata Reagan Democrats like that? Nakwambia hawapati, atapata temporary Rush Limbaugh Rethuglicans who do not sincerely support her. Reagan Democrats will rather vote McCain than her maana hana msimamo!
Did you see her swinging beer and whiskey shots and claiming that she goes hunting and shooting ducks! Puleeeze! Naona Jaluo kamtwanga vizuri na comments
Then, laughing along with the union audience, Obama noted that Clinton seemed much more interested in guns since he made his comments than she had in the past.

"She is running around talking about how this is an insult to sportsmen, how she values the Second Amendment. She's talking like she's Annie Oakley," Obama said, invoking the famed female sharpshooter immortalized in the musical "Annie Get Your Gun."

He continued: "Hillary Clinton is out there like she's on the duck blind every Sunday. She's packing a six-shooter. Come on, she knows better. That's some politics being played by Hillary Clinton."

Clinton has told campaign audiences that she supports the rights of hunters. Saturday, she reminisced about learning to shoot on family vacations in Scranton, where her father grew up. She's also said she once shot a duck in Arkansas, where she served as first lady.

Mama naona anazidi kuchemka!

I've come to notice that this guy is too gaffe prone without a teleprompter. Do you all remember a couple weeks ago when he said he didn't want his two daughters punished for having babies when they are teenagers? Since when is having babies a "punishment"? Only in Obama's little world.....And now he's talking down on people who like guns, who are religious and saying they cling to those things just because they are bitter as if they only do those things in bad times....ha...he'll have a rude awakening come November. This kind of elitism is what causes the Democratic party to lose the south election after election.

Nyani, usiniambie having babies is not punishment! Come on! Hivi una binti? Au una dada? Unafikiri kuzaa mtoto ukiwa 13 or 14 siyo punishment for early sexual activity? I think so! At that age the mother is also still a child, usilete siasa kwenye masuala binafsi. he was right, this is something that every parent considers. Hata Bongo, akina mama hushiriki katika kuwatoa mimba watoto wao walioko shule. Because this ruins their lives.
The problem with Obama is that he talks to everyone above 18 as if they were adults, the problem Hillary thinks that the electorate has low IQ and have to be told what to think. Same applies to the Rethugs! Lakini yatawashinda - you can fool some people some time, but you can't fool all the people all the time!
Umeona your favortie channel Fox walivyoshindwa! Walijaribu kwenda kuuliza watu in PA if they are bitter, following Obama's comments wakidhani watamponda, lakini cha ajabu watu wamemsupport Obama na kukubali they are bitter. Na wamesema even though some of them will vote for McCain but Obama was right. This shows that he was not elitist or condescending. Kibabu McCain ndo kabisaaa! Anasema Obama is out of touch, aliporushiwa mpira, kafyata mkia!

Sorry but I don't think any human being, regardless of how and when they were conceived, is "punishment". We are all a blessing and I don't compromise my morals for anything especially politics. Sorry buddy, you are wrong on this one.

I respect your point of view, and that is what is important. I think the problem comes when we are intolerant to each other's varying perspective. Mi binafsi si aprove abortion except in extreme cases and we can open a separate thread to debate that. However, I think that a woman's right to choose has to be there, she should be able to make that decision because it is 9 months from HER life and it is at the end of the day her responsibility.
If Obama deems that her little girls are not ready to be parents at 13, he has every right to do so. Lakini hajachemka. He was being honest, hakuleta siasa kwenye masuala haya. It is about moral and values just as much as it is to you whereas you oppose abortion. Lakini isn't that better kuliko angeanza kuleta imbaimba ya Mama - mara she supports Second Amendment kumbe alikuwa bonge moja la anti gun activist alipokuwa first lady! That is problematic.
I am not saying Obama is perfect but he is doing much more to be honest and straightforward kuliko Hillary who has been lying about Bosnia, about guns, about NAFTA and the list goes on.

I'm sorry.

Pittsburgh Steelers owner backs Obama

Daniel Nasaw in Washington
guardian.co.uk,
Monday April 14 2008

The owner of the Pittsburgh Steelers NFL team today endorsed Democratic presidential hopeful Barack Obama, in a move that could strengthen the Illinois Democrat's appeal to the team's vast and devoted fan base.

The city of Pittsburgh is utterly mad about Steelers football, and Dan Rooney's team in 2006 delivered a Super Bowl championship. His influence competes with that of the city's 28-year old mayor, who is backing Obama's rival Hillary Clinton.

Obama is a fan of the Chicago Bears.

Rooney is the son of Steelers founder Art Rooney, and has managed the club's operations since the 1960's. In 2000, Rooney was inducted into the professional football hall of fame.

In a statement released by the Obama campaign today, Rooney praised Obama's "thoughtful, strategic approach."

"Our country needs a new direction and a new kind of leadership – the kind of leadership, judgment and experience that Senator Obama has demonstrated in more than 20 years of public service, and in a particularly impressive way in this campaign," he said.

"Senator Obama has rejected the say-and-do anything tactics that puts winning elections ahead of governing the country. And he has rejected the back-room politics in favour of opening government up to the people."

He continued, "True sports fans know that you support your team even when they are the underdogs. Barack Obama is the underdog here but it is with great pride that I join his team."

Rooney's nod puts him at odds with Pittsburgh mayor Luke Ravehstahl, who is himself known as a committed Steelers' fan.

Clinton is ahead in the polls in Pennsylvania, although in recent weeks Obama has narrowed her lead.

Rooney's endorsement could attract working class voters in western Pennsylvania. That's a segment of the Democratic electorate that has in other states been drawn to Clinton.
