Theories:

1. US may want to end the war in Afganistan and since the main target was Osama, declaring him dead, it is a victory by US and hence they can end the war in the region. Osama may however have been dead long time ago and they are now sure that he is dead and they are sure to announce but have to make the case recent.
2. US may want to send a message to justify the current actions in Libya so that they can win support to kill Gadaffi.
3. Obama wants to regain popularity at home and declaring killing Osama, and hence some of the forces will go back home and reduction in unnecessary military spending which do not have much American Interests. There is much American interest in Libya than in Afganistan.
4. Since Americans knew what they were doing we could have seen footnotes of exactly what has happened and how did the process go. We are told that he was called with four others, who are the four others? Where were they burried and by whom? Why was Osama burried hurriedly and claimed to be in the sea and in Afganistan and not in Pakistan where they captured him dead?
5. They claimed that Pakistani's forces were not involved? Were they aware of the ambush? The residence is few hundreds meters from the military training site/college. Does it mean that Pakistanis did not know that Osama is there? Or was Pakistanis govt helping to hide Osama?
6. There are so many questions around the issue that need to be clarified, if the world have to be really sure that it is a holly wood movie!
