Anderson has been praised by the manager for his impressive start to the season.

The Brazilian midfielder has relished in finding himself as the senior partner to Tom Cleverley in the middle of the park and produced accomplished displays in all three of the champions' Barclays Premier League fixtures. Having already found the net with the stunning team goal against Spurs, the South American appears to have added goals to his game and is fulfilling the potential that persuaded United to sign him from Porto as a teenager in 2007.
"He's been tremendous, the boy," Sir Alex told this month's edition of Inside United. "He's had a couple of long-term injuries which haven't helped him, but in the last year or so, he's steered clear of injury.
"That means he's training every day so his fitness levels are much better. And he's maturing so you can see the consistency in his game."

Alex Ferguson insists he still has no plans to retire — even though he turns 70 at the end of this year. Fergie will clock up 25 years as Manchester United boss on November 6. Plenty of other names have been mentioned as possible successors over the last quarter of a century. But Fergie has seen them all off and insists he will keep modern-day pretenders to his throne such as Jose Mourinho and Pep Guardiola waiting for a while longer yet. Ferguson said: "Over the years I've had the question who do I think could replace me? Now some of the coaches who people were talking about to replace me don't have jobs any more. So it becomes very difficult because someone who I think has potential may be sacked by his club and disappear. I think you would need someone very experienced in the long-term. But I have absolutely no idea... and anyway I'm not retiring!"

Danny Welbeck is ahead of schedule in his fight to return to fitness after the young striker pulled up with hamstring trouble in United's 8-2 win against Arsenal last month. Initially, Sir Alex said he expected Welbeck to miss up to six weeks, but The Daily Mail claim Danny hopes to resume training next week.

Valencia back in United squad

Antonio Valencia is back in the United squad for Saturday's trip to Bolton. The Ecuador winger was injured at the Copa America in the summer but has been working hard to get back to full fitness and has been rewarded with a place in the party for the Reebok Stadium visit.

Javier Hernandez is in good shape after his exertions with Mexico and is in contention for his first start of the new season but Sir Alex does not expect to make too many changes to a winning side.

"There's no new problems after the internationals," said the boss. "Hernandez is fit. He played two lots of 45 minutes for Mexico and scored a goal. It's terrific for him to have the two halves, he's ready and has trained very well. "The only concern was the rest time he needed after the concussion in the US. Otherwise he was fine. "Valencia's doing very, very well - he's in the squad for tomorrow "Rio Ferdinand's available but none of the back four deserve to be dropped so I don't anticipate many changes in the team."
