[h=1]Reds duo close to return[/h] Jonny Evans and Radamel Falcao are edging closer to a return to action and both have trained well this week ahead of the Hull City clash.
Although Louis van Gaal was keen to stress there was another training session still to come when he spoke exclusively to MUTV at the Aon Training Complex on Friday, the early signs are the pair need slightly more time before being ready to play 90 minutes in the Barclays Premier League.

[h=1]Shaw injured, but Falcao and Rojo may return[/h] Louis van Gaal had some positive news in Friday's pre-match press conference, with Luke Shaw only ruled out for a few weeks by the ankle injury he sustained at Arsenal - and the possibility that Radamel Falcao and Marcos Rojo could feature in Saturday's Barclays Premier League encounter with Hull City.
Falcao returned to full training on Sunday after missing the last four first-team fixtures with a troublesome calf injury, while Rojo has not featured since dislocating his shoulder during United's 1-0 defeat to local rivals Manchester City on 2 November.
"We have to wait and see until the last training session of course," van Gaal explained at the Aon Training Complex. "It's always difficult to say but we have good news, yes. You have to read between the lines.
"I have to train the last session and I live day by day at this moment. So maybe Falcao can come back in the 18 [matchday squad], maybe Rojo can come back in the 18. That's it I think."
Asked about Shaw's ankle injury sustained during the first half during last Saturday's match at the Emirates Stadium, van Gaal provided a positive update on the 19-year-old England international.
"Luke sustained an ankle ligament injury but with no serious complications and he will only be out for the next few weeks because of this."

kazi ipo msimu huu....CHRIS SMALLING ndio senior defender wetu!

[h=1]Smalling relishing senior role[/h] After a spate of recent injuries decimated the Manchester United defence, Chris Smalling has found himself occupying the role of elder statesman in the back-line and is enjoying the extra responsibility invested in him by manager Louis van Gaal.
United's no.12 started in a back three against Arsenal last weekend, occupying a central position alongside Academy graduates Tyler Blackett and Paddy McNair. Despite a difficult start, the fresh-faced Reds defence regrouped and produced an excellent display leading to Smalling being shortlisted for our Man of the Match award.
"I enjoyed that [being the senior defender]. It was obviously a very young back four but I'm very loud and talk quite a lot which was important in that game because of the young lads around me," Smalling told MUTV.
"We were lucky not to have come off at half-time having lost a couple of goals, but we regrouped and stuck to what we'd trained at and got better as the match went on."
The England international was also full of praise for the young defensive duo of Blackett and McNair and believes their progression will be significantly aided following the toughest of tests at the Emirates.
"I think they are [progressing well], they'll learn a lot from playing in a big game last week in terms of dealing with those sorts of occasions and how sharp it is at that level," Smalling explained.
"Arsenal's forward line was probably one of the hardest we'll face this season, so I'm sure they'll learn much more from that than say a handful of Under-21 games."

Louis van Gaal has admitted Radamel Falcao is "not ready" to start for United against Hull City.

The Colombian has not played for the Reds since their 2-2 draw at West Bromwich Albion on October 20 and he will be left out of the starting line-up again for the Tigers' visit on Saturday afternoon.

Van Gaal tends to prefer returning players complete a two-week training schedule with the first-team before they are considered for the matchday squad, which appears to rule Jonny Evans out of the Hull game.

"Falcao is not ready. It is the same thing with Evans," Van Gaal told MUTV .

"When you are out of the running for so long and not training with your fellow players and only running because of the injury, one week of training sessions is not sufficient to develop match rhythm.

"I need strikers now, so maybe he is in the 18."

Evans played 64 minutes for the Reserves in their 5-0 Manchester Senior Cup win over Blackburn Rovers on Tuesday night after a two-month absence with an ankle injury.

Chris Smalling, Paddy McNair and Tyler Blackett are expected to retain their places at the weekend and Van Gaal said Evans is not ready for Premier League football.

"Evans is, of course, out with an injury that takes a lot of weeks, so he has to develop match rhythm and that’s why he had to play in the second team," Van Gaal added.

"He played 60 minutes but then you don’t already have the match rhythm of the Premier League. He is fit to play but not for the Premier League."
