United are away to Bayern on Tuesday 30 March and at home on Wednesday 7 April. If United get through, their semi-final home leg against Lyon or Bordeaux is 21 April and the away leg is on 27 April
bayern ni timu ngumu sana, man utd players na sir alex wanajua hilo hawawezi kudharau hii game, wakishinda wanacheza na lyon or bordeaux ambazo on paper ni timu dhaifu.
We've got to be confident we can progress. The Bayern tie is very difficult but if we negotiate that successfully we've got a French team in the semis. So it's looking good.
Sir Alex Ferguson is looking forward to locking horns with Bayern Munich again in continental competition. Manchester United
have been paired against the German giants in the quarter-finals of this season's UEFA Champions League.
The two old foes have not met in Europe's premier club competition since 2001, when Bayern sent United packing in the last eight.
However, the most memorable meeting between the pair came in the final of 1999, when the Red Devils secured a dramatic victory at Barcelona's Camp Nou with two late goals.
Their rivalry is now set to be rekindled, with Ferguson
admitting that he expects a tough test against the Bundesliga leaders.
"The history of playing Bayern in past European ties tells you it's going to be a very difficult tie for us," Ferguson told the club's official website.
"It'll be a fantastic atmosphere in both games. They have a great stadium and a good pitch and we're up against a good, experienced team." Confident
Ferguson is also hoping that he will have the chance to field a full-strength side against Louis van Gaal's
men.
"Hopefully we'll have everyone we need for the game and, if we do, then we have got a good chance," he said.
Meanwhile, chief executive David Gill
is optimistic regarding United's chances of landing the Champions League crown.
They have been handed a favourable draw, with Lyon or Bordeaux waiting in the semi-finals should Bayen be successfully dispatched.
"We're playing well and Sir Alex and the players know what to do in the latter stages of this competition," he said.
"We've got to be confident we can progress. The Bayern tie is very difficult but if we negotiate that successfully we've got a French team in the semis. So it's looking good.
"Without doubt [it looks like a good route to the final]. But this is the best competition in club football so there should be eight great teams in the quarter-finals.
"We can't get carried away. One of Sir Alex's strengths is not to do that. We've got to concentrate on that first game, get them back to Old Trafford with an away goal, and hopefully we'll progress."
Lol!..point made above, naona double (treble kumbe!!Lol!, na Carling tayari kibindoni), hiyooooooo yajongea taaratibu. BTW nilikuwa na hamu sanaaaa na revenge ya Barca, ila nasikitika tutuifanya wakati mbaya sana, ni May 29, Estadio Santiago Bernabau.
BTW; Who's the hell is Bayern Munich and sijui Bordeaux au Lyon?
Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson fully expects the Premier League title race to go down to the last day of the season.
The Red Devils moved back to the top of the table on Sunday with goals from Wayne Rooney
headed the visitors into an early lead before United hit back to climb two points clear of Arsenal, with Chelsea battling the duo for the crown this term. Ferguson
believes the experience of his side, particularly in defence, could prove to be a telling factor in the final weeks of an enthralling season. Magnificent
The Scot told Sky Sports: "If I can keep (Nemanja) Vidic and (Rio) Ferdinand fit we have a marvellous chance against anyone.
"Vidic in particular today was absolutely magnificent. We have a very experienced back four and goalkeeper so it gives us a really outstanding chance.
"It could very well go to the wire, I don't have any doubts about that. You look at the run in for both teams and there are important games coming up, so I don't see how it can't go down to the wire."
Ferguson felt Javier Mascherano
with a penalty awarded and a yellow card issued by referee Howard Webb
for an offence which began outside the box.
Rooney saw his shot from 12 yards superbly saved by Jose Reina
before slotting home the rebound as it fell kindly at his feet, but the United boss believed Mascherano was lucky to stay on the field.
He added: "I though it was a red card. I don't see how anybody could have stopped Valencia from shooting.
"Carragher was maybe seven yards away to the side, and there is no way he could have stopped the shot. That is a goalscoring opportunity as far as I'm concerned." Vital role
And the Old Trafford supremo reserved special praise for South Korea international Park, who dived to bravely head home Darren Fletcher's
superb cross on the hour mark.
Ferguson said: "It was a very tight affair, Liverpool are very good at stopping you playing. Fortunately we've scored a tremendous goal through Ji-Sung Park who played another vital role for us today.
"He has got that great energy, and that is why we can play him in these positions. He can fill the midfield role when the other team have the ball, and when we have possession his movement off the ball is fantastic.
"We've also seen his ability to adapt to different roles because his intelligence and discipline are superb. No matter where I play him I can get a certain role out of him.
