David Moyes and Nemanja Vidic: Both now departed from Old Trafford

Departing Manchester United captain Nemanja Vidic admits "everyone lost belief in the team" during their disappointing season.
Vidic, who is joining Inter Milan this summer, insists former manager David Moyes - sacked before the season ended after less than a year in charge - was not solely to blame, and he revealed the players argued amongst themselves more than any other year in his career at Old Trafford.

Moyes succeeded Sir Alex Ferguson as manager last summer on a six-year contract but was sacked last month, United eventually finishing 22 points behind table-topping Manchester City and failing to qualify for Europe.

Manchester United captain Nemanja Vidic says his heart will always be at the club after playing his last game at Old Trafford.

It was not the way Vidic wanted to end his otherwise glittering, trophy-filled eight-and-a-half-year career at the club.
But he says that whoever had succeeded Sir Alex Ferguson would have had a difficult job imposing their will on the squad.
"There was a transition," he told the Telegraph. "You get someone who sees football in a different way and he will want to put his stamp on the team and the way he wants to pay.

"It's been a shocking season from where they've been, challenging for championships year in and year out. It doesn't sit well with me that Manchester United have sacked a manager after 10 months."
Sky Sports' Gary Neville

"Ryan Giggs shares the same ideas as Sir Alex Ferguson and has a more similar approach to the one we had with Sir Alex. The players are more than used to it and felt more comfortable with it.
"I am not saying that the David Moyes way was bad but these players feel more comfortable playing a certain way of football. You have to respect where you are and what you represent though, and there is no point speaking about someone who was here, who everyone knows lost his job because he did not succeed in doing what he wanted to achieve.
"The best answer I can say is that he tried really hard, he was professional. He was really committed to the job and desperately wanted to do well. But unfortunately, it didn't happen and we are all sad."

Gary Neville, Jamie Redknapp, Graeme Souness and Jamie Carragher discuss what went wrong at Manchester United under David Moyes.

Vidic insisted there was no attempt to undermine Moyes - they did what they were told - but admitted there were serious arguments between the players.

"Sometimes you have bad times and you question yourself, of course, but we never did question the manager. We questioned ourselves more," he said.
"It has been hard. We thought it might be difficult to win the title this year but we still thought we would challenge for the trophies. We ended up losing the chance to win the title very early though, and then we lost the chance to win the cups as well.

Soccer Saturday pundit Paul Merson says that Manchester United must perform a lot better if they are to challenge next season.

"We are used to fighting until the last day of the season for the title. That has happened for the last seven years and this year was the first year we have not done that, so it is hard to cope.
"We argued amongst ourselves. This year more than any other, because when you have bad times people show they care. We were arguing to get better. We wanted to improve.

"If you didn't argue it wouldn't be right. We had some hard moments in the dressing room between ourselves."

[h=1]Manchester United reveal 'record revenues' in latest financial figures[/h]

Ed Woodward: Executive vice-chairman has announced record revenues for Manchester United

Manchester United executive vice-chairman Ed Woodward insists the club will compete for trophies next season after announcing a 60 percent increase in quarterly profits.
But he has warned United's absence from the Champions League will have an impact on income after they finished the campaign seventh in the Premier League table.
"Due to relatively high broadcasting revenues we estimate that the isolated impact for not qualifying for European football will be in the mid 30 millions of pounds which includes a 15 percent reduction in the price of executive facilities next year," said Woodward.

David Moyes was sacked as manager last month with Netherlands national team coach Louis van Gaal expected to be named as his replacement next week, but despite the upheaval on and off the field, the club has reported a promising set of financial results.

"Everyone at the club is working hard to ensure the team is back challenging for the title and trophies next season."
Ed Woodward

"Once again we generated record revenues as all of our businesses delivered impressive year over year growth," said Woodward. "This puts us in a healthy financial position to continue to invest in the squad. We will be active in the transfer market and deals will be done.

"The club's expectations - and you will see this reflected in the transfer market and what we have recently done from a managerial perspective - are absolutely to get back into the Champions League.
"Everyone at the club is working hard to ensure the team is back challenging for the title and trophies next season."
United's revenue in the three months to March rose by 26 percent to £115.5m and operating profit reached £40m, the increase primarily driven by a rise in income from Premier League broadcasting and sponsorship deals.
Broadcasting revenue was up by £13.9m to £35.6m while sponsorship income rose 43.5 percent. These ensured profits tripled to £10.9m in the quarter, and debt dropped four percent to £351.7m.
However, United's wage bill rose by 19 percent to £53.4m following the arrivals of Marouane Feillaini in the summer and £37m club-record signing Juan Mata.

New deals handed to Nani and Adnan Januzaj also contributed to the rise but it is believed Wayne Rooney's contract extension made no significant difference to wage costs as he has a separate arrangement in place for image rights.
It is anticipated the impact from that loss of revenue will be offset by a new sponsorship deal with Chevrolet who will replace insurance giant Aon as United's shirt sponsors.
The record-breaking deal with the American car manufacturer is due to begin from next season and is worth £53m per season.

WOODWARD SPEECH HIGHLIGHTS
“Are we assuming to go back into Europe?” Woodward -rhetorically asked the Masters of the Financial Universe. “Clearly we are."
"The club’s expectations, and you will see this reflected in the transfer market, and what we have recently done from a -managerial perspective, our aim -absolutely is to get back into the Champions League.
“We estimate the impact of not qualifying for European football to be in the mid-30 millions of pounds.
“As you are aware we made a managerial change at the end of April. Following David Moyes’ departure, Ryan Giggs, the club’s most decorated player, assumed responsibility for the first-team as interim manager.

“We are grateful to Ryan for holding the reins during this period and the exemplary manner in which he conducted the role. We are now focused on bringing in a new manager who will help Manchester United return to the top of English football and challenge in Europe.
“We expect to make an announcement in due course. In the meantime we continue to be active in the transfer market.”
It will be a year-on-year increase. We do expect there to be -inflation in player wages, partly due to the market, and we are looking at investing in players this summer anyway. It will be high-teens, not mid-teens.
“Recent news has indicated that UEFA is taking a strong line on clubs that breach FFP rules. We continue to support FFP and believe it will continue to control capex (capital expenditure) and player wage inflation.
“We also believe the quality of a club’s academy will be a key differentiator when FFP begins to take effect.
“We will be active in the transfer market and the window is upon us and deals are being done but not ‘been done’ in terms of the past tense. You will have to wait and see as we go through the window. We will assess how active we will be in September.”

Kila mwaka man utd ina make profit

Ninatabiri UNITED will win Premier and Champions league and will beat the top four teams home and away. Just remember to hold me accountable comes August.

Kuna watu kitendo cha United kukaribia kumpata Van Gaal, roho zinawauma kweli.

He has won a total of 19 trophies in his managerial career.

He will surely get #ManUnited back to its throne.

Players from European clubs representing their national teams at the world cup.
