Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has hinted he will leave the club at the end of his current contract.

The former Borussia Dortmund manager first joined Liverpool in 2015 and is currently contracted to the club until 2022.

Liverpool's owners Fenway Sports Group are keen to tie Klopp down to a new, long-term deal but the German has suggested he will take a break from football when his contract ends in three years' time.

When asked if he was planning to take a sabbatical, Klopp told Kicker: "It looks like it. Who can now say if he can give it his all in three years' time?

"If I decide for myself that I can't go on anymore, I'll take a break and in that year I'd have to make a definite decision [over my career].

"I have absolute energy, but I have one problem; I can't do 'a little bit.' I can only do 'all or nothin

He is right, we should respect his thoughts. I liked when he talked about Couldn't do a little bit. He can only do all or rather nothing at all. Now we know what kind of a bloke he is. Very strong minded individual.

well if he decide that this roller coaster journey with us is coming to end wont take t personal will just hit my chest n salute the guy,

so far he has elavated us from almost being super crap to real contenders in major trophies...very rarely we have managed to keep hold of our main players but now we have kept Saido, Salah, Firmino, VVD, Robbo, Allison..previously this boys couldnt even choose us lets alone chose to remain all this is down to Klopp effect, if you listen to the players discussing how a fatherly role he plays you just know this Nazi is special breed..he listen even to thier challenges outside the field, family matters etc..he is just a complete package

his name is already stamped in the Reds Hall of Fame, if he can bring t home the EPL before he say good bye that would be one hell of achievment..

Liverpool striker Bobby Duncan pulled out of Monday’s Premier League 2 match against Southampton, Sky Sports News understands.

Duncan wants the opportunity to speak to Fiorentina about a move and is said to be frustrated at Liverpool's unwillingness to entertain offers

It is understood Liverpool will not allow Duncan to leave on loan and have rejected loan offers from Danish club FC Nordsjaelland and Fiorentina.

While the player wants to leave, it is understood that he has maintained a professional attitude.

Duncan, whose contract runs until 2021, scored 25 goals for the development squad last season.

DEVELOPING STORY, DUNCAN AGENT SAYS WE ARE 'CHOCKING' HIS CLIENT

Liverpool have launched a stern defence after they were accused of "bullying and mentally destroying" their young striker Bobby Duncan by the player's agent.

Saif Rubie says Duncan missed Monday's U23 game against Southampton because he has suffered "deep mental issues with all the stress the club has put him under".

The 18-year-old reportedly wants to leave Liverpool but the club have rejected loan offers from Danish club FC Nordsjaelland and Serie A side Fiorentina, who are apparently Duncan's first choice

In the statement Rubie is heavily critical of Liverpool sporting director Michael Edwards and the club's hierarchy for allegedly preventing Duncan leaving, saying: "Bobby has not left his room for four days because of this and will never go back to Liverpool again and my only concern now is his mental health and well being."
In response, Liverpool released the following statement: "Liverpool Football Club is aware of and disappointed by the unattributed comments and unfounded allegations that have been made in the media regarding one of our players.

"As the interests of the player in question are not best served by either inaccurate speculation, inflammatory statements or public discourse, we will be making no further comment.

"We will, however, continue our efforts to work privately with the player to find resolution in the best interests of all involvedLiverpool signed Duncan, the cousin of club legend Steven Gerrard, from Manchester City last year. He has featured in the main for Liverpool's U23 and U18 sides, scoring against City in the FA Youth Cup final in April as Liverpool won the trophy for the first time in 12 years.."


He has yet to make a competitive appearance for the first team but did feature in pre-season, scoring in the 6-0 win at Tranmere.

Sky Sports News understands Duncan is rated by both the the Academy and first team set-ups and is held in high regard as a professional.

RYAN KENT MIGHT BE JOINING RANGERS SOON...

Ryan Kent is keeping his options open, despite having his heart set on a return to Rangers, Sky Sports News understands.

The 22-year-old is keen to leave Liverpool before the close of the European transfer window and has also attracted interest from clubs in France and Belgium

Sky Sports News revealed in March that Rangers were facing a battle to sign the winger on a permanent deal following a successful season-long loan spell at Ibrox.

Jurgen Klopp confirmed in July that it is Liverpool's preference to sell Kent and Sky Sports News understands the Reds value him at around £7m.

Why Rangers want Kent back?
Gerrard spoke very fondly of Kent during last season and throughout the summer as he tried to lure the winger back to Ibrox following a stellar campaign last time around.

Kent's pace and trickery down the left proved hugely effective in the big games last year, as shown in Rangers' 1-0 win over Celtic in December in which he provided the assist for Ryan Jack.

Ibrox can be an intimidating environment for a young winger, but Gerrard and Rangers fans took to Kent because of his fearlessness, his determination to beat his man and drive at defences, as well as his willingness to press opponents and chase back when an attack broke down.

Champions League draw simulator: Liverpool face Real Madrid, tough Tottenham tie, Chelsea
The Champions League group stage draw takes place on Thursday and if the simulator is anything to go by there will be tough matches for Liverpool, Tottenham, Chelsea and Manchester City.

Clubs will receive their fate at 5pm on Thursday when the draw takes place in Monaco.

Liverpool will of course be looking to defend their crown while Tottenham will be keen to go one better after losing the final in Madrid.

Chelsea will want to mark their return to the competition with success, while Man City are yet to conquer Europe.

If Liverpool could beat Real Madrid here, they’d back themselves to qualify.

Uefa will name its Men's Player of the Year on Thursday with Liverpool defender Virgil van Dijk up against Juventus forward Cristiano Ronaldo and Barcelona's Lionel Messi for the award.

Van Dijk has been a revelation for Liverpool since joining from Southampton and was an integral part of the side that won the Champions League last season and pushed eventual Premier League champions Manchester City all the way.

A defender has never won the award before so for the Dutch international to be in the running against Messi and Ronaldo is already a big achievement.


Van Dijk made a total of 59 appearances for club and country last season, scoring nine goals and providing four assists. He also played more minutes for Liverpool (4,465) than any other outfield player. In all competitions, meanwhile, he won over 70% of his duels and aerial battles, underlining his importance at the heart of the defence.

Liverpool conceded fewer goals (22) than any other Premier League side last season and Van Dijk was key to that as he won 76.3% of his duels in the league.

Compare that to other defenders in Europe's top five leagues and, of the 293 defenders to be involved in 200 or more duels in 2018-19, no player won a higher percentage than Van Dijk.
