Your degree naivete is beyond comprehension! For you to think that you can call FDLR, sit down with them and talk about "why they killed your brothers and sisters" shows just how out of sync you are with reality. FDLR is a band of bloodthirsty criminals responsible for the senseless butchering of over a million innocent souls. And they still harbor their hateful rhetoric and ideology bent on plunging Rwanda and the region into another bloodbath. Yet you want to reason with these people?
And please stop this hullabaloo about Habyarimana supposedly willingly negotiating with Kagame and the RPF. It was not like that. Habyarimana and his illegitimate regime hated Kagame, RPF and all Tutsi in general. The truth of the matter is Habyarimana had no choice but to negotiate so as to save his neck and perhaps bow out gracefully. The RPA was closing in on Kigali due to the high morale, discipline and combat-readiness of its forces. Coupled with the high moral resolve to liberate all peoples of Rwanda and the support from ordinary Rwandans regardless of ethnicity across the country, Habyarimana's extremist junta's days were numbered. The FAR was indisciplined, corrupt and simply could not put up a fight without their French "masters". A typical ragtag army except for a few battalions who chose to kill Tutsi and peace-loving Hutu instead of facing the mighty RPA.
The likes of you have tried so hard to re-write history but in vain. We all know what happened. Equating the Arusha talks to the FDLR is simply absurd. Go hug a tree!
The history can never and will never be re written, the fact is that here in Tanzania we know all the gibberish that comes out from Kigali mouthpiece media. It is some people in Kigali who re-write the history for their political gains, but looks like their attempts to alter and manipulate facts for political gains are increasingly become futile, and will in long run be poisonous.
It is ridiculous as well as provocative, to suggest that talks are not possible and killing is the only way, talks are possible as long as there is reasoning behind. Sit with them and show them why their fathers were wrong. I will always stand by what my president say, two wrongs does not make a right.
Those mutherfcukers killed innocent people no one is changing that fact (some in Kigali are sexing that fact), but behaving like them makes you no different from them. Interhamwes are not innocent, to be better than them you have to do what they did not do manage to do, and that is talking to those they killed.
Interhamwes got nailed and most are in jail and some got killed. It is possible that some of those we call Interhamwe today (FDLR) did not kill anyone that i do not agree with Kigali's reasoning of targeting 17, 18 and 19 year olds sons of hutus in DRC for taking part in a genocide which is older than them. Their fathers may have chosen to kill in the name of Interhamwe, but that does not mean they have to forcibly inherit their father's evils.
If you think or act like Interhamwe, regardless of who you are you and where you stand you are equally possessing a killer ideology. I am glad that you know that the danger now is not ability for interhamwe to commit another genocide, but the ideology of hate that FDLR still harbors, and you may be right, some FDLR teen hutus still have that ideology which i believe was not planted in them by force, so it can be taken out without one. It may have been planted by them by fear.
Unless you want to have us believe that you harbor the ideology that Hutus are inferior and less humans who are not capable of sense and intellect, to admit that interhamwe (Hutu extremists) committed genocide and genocide is wrong.
