The system that Spain are using does not require a recognised CF like Torres. Its more like Barca who do not employ a typical CF in most of their games

Both FAB and Torres are good players though playing at different positions. I thonk that Del Bosque has opted for FAB first and not Torres due performance of the former in Barca compared to that of Torres in Chelsea. Another reason for Del Bosque using this formation might be the line - up of the rival team.
