Batshuayi given 9/10 on Dortmund debut

25 minutes ago ESPN

Brace, goal disallowed, assist
ESPN recap: It already became visible how the physical edge of the Belgium international can add another dimension to BVB's attack. He was ice cold in the box, excellently converting three out of four chances -- one, however, was ruled offside just shortly before half-time. It couldn't have been a better debut.

Michy has also become the first player in the Bundesliga to score twice on his debut since, ironically, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.

*Chelsea choose Napoli coach Sarri and ready to pay his €8m release clause (GdS)*

Chelsea have chosen Napoli Coach Maurizio Sarri as the ideal heir to Antonio Conte and are ready to pay his €8m release clause, it’s reported.

According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, Roman Abramovich has been won over by Sarri’s style of football at the Stadio San Paolo.

Napoli are top of the Serie A table after putting together 18 wins, three draws and only one defeat this season.

Sarri’s spectacular approach has been openly praised by Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola, who called Napoli one of the best teams in Europe.

Despite Conte’s protestations that he still has 18 months to run on his contract, many believe this is his final campaign at Stamford Bridge.

Sarri would be a welcome heir for several reasons, including his notorious refusal to demand new signings, insisting it is his job to work with an improve the players given to him.

There is a release clause in chain-smoking Sarri’s contract with Napoli, allowing any club to buy him out for €8m up until May 31.

Antonio Conte has no intention of walking away from Chelsea before his contract expires in June 2019.

Antonio Conte does not understand continual speculation over his position at Chelsea and remains adamant he will see out the remainder of his contract at Stamford Bridge.

The Italian led Chelsea to the Premier League crown in his first year in charge but has cut an unhappy figure for most of 2017-18, with suggestions he is not satisfied with the club's transfer policy adding to an underwhelming title defence.

This has inevitably led to suggestions he will leave Chelsea at the end of the season, 12 months before his deal expires - either of his own accord or following the sack, but Conte insists that is not the case.

Speaking ahead of Monday's trip to Watford, he said: "I don't know why [there is so much speculation].

"My intention, my will is to respect my contract. From the start of the season there has been a lot of speculation, rumours. The only thing I know is that I still have 18 months left on my contract and my will is to stay here and continue my work. I don't see a problem with this."

The subject of Conte's future has been brought up again in the last 24 hours when it emerged FIGC vice-commissioner Alessandro Costacurta said he intended to speak to his former international team-matewith regards the vacant Italy job - a position Conte held before moving to England.

However, after stating he has no plans to speak to the FIGC, Conte added: "I can tell you Costacurta is a friend, we played together with the national team in 1994. But maybe he forgot that I still have 18 months left on my contract with Chelsea."

Despite his appearance suggesting the contrary, the former Juventus boss claimed he liked the pressure.

"It doesn't affect me. This season, it has always been the same, a lot of pressure around me and I don't understand why," he said.

"The pressure is normal and for me the pressure is life. I like the pressure. If I see there is no pressure... it's not [good] for me or the players when the situation is too calm and relaxed. You lose the anger and the fire. I like to live with this pressure."

Conte remains confident in his own ability, however.

"As you know very well, I trust in my work. This is the only thing I trust, my work, in my work," he said.

"This is the only way that brought me to be one of the best coaches, the best managers. I trust only my work. I don't trust in anything else."

"I don't understand why other coaches are not under pressure after a defeat in the way that you [the media] are doing with me": Antonio Conte blames media for exit rumours.

Antonio Conte says Chelsea need two or three world-class players to compete with Man City
Both Chelsea n Conte has denied being behind report linking Conte away
Asked what Chelsea needed to do to catch City, Conte said: “Now we have to struggle to fight for a Champions League place – that is top. We must be realistic. We must be strong to accept this type of situation. Then, in the future, if there is the possibility, you have to try to buy only two or three players – not eight players. Don’t forget, this summer, we brought in eight players and spent a lot less than other teams who bought only two or three.”
Agreeing those two or three needed to be truly world-class, he added: “We have to create a basis; we have to build something important. To do this, you must have 15 or 16 players. In the summer, we changed eight players. That means you don’t have a basis, a great foundation. We must have great patience to understand the moment.
We lost strong, experienced players in the last few years, so we must have patience to understand that, now, we have to appreciate the moment, be realistic, create a basis and then build something important to face big challenges with the other teams.”
“I don’t understand why other coaches are not under pressure after a defeat in the way that you are doing with me,”
The Italian, who has only been in charge at Chelsea for 18 months, claimed Arsene Wenger had only come under similar pressure after spending “20 years” at Arsenal.
Chelsea have joined the race to sign Barcelona defender Samuel Umtiti at the end of the season, claims Don Balon

Umtiti has a €60 million release clause in his contract and Barca are keen to hold talks over a new deal for the France international, so they can increase the price.

However, Chelsea, Paris Saint-Germain and Real Madrid are all interested in signing the centre-back, who has previously been linked with Manchester City and Manchester United.
