Ingawa wazungu waliendeleza biashara hizo. Mfano mzuri ni Waafrica kuchukuliwa kwa nguvu kupelekwa America kuteswa na kuuzwa. Pia walituletea hata Africa. Kwa waliopata kutembelea Makanisa ya Mkunazini wataona athari zake hizo. Watumwa wakichukuliwa Bara na kuwekwa makanisani na kuuzwa. Hivyo ni kwa ufupi tuu. Ukitaka mengine Inshallah utapata majibu safi kabisa
Katika nchi nyingi za ulaya kukana kuwa palikuwa na Holocaust ni kosa la jinai. Wamefanya hivi kutokana kuwa na hofu ya kwamba kwa kukana ukweli huu kutaruhusu kupenyezwa tena imani na vitendo vya kibaguzi dhidi ya wayahudi. Hii ikiruhusiwa itapelekea kurudia hali iliyotawala katika miaka ya 30 ambapo jumuia ya kijerumani iliona ni haki kumdhalilisha, kumgandamiza na hatimaye kumuua myahudi. Hii hali wasingetaka irudiwe ndiyo maana wanakuwa wakali kuhusu mtu yeyote anayejaribu kuandika upya historia kufuta vitendo vya kikatili vilivyofanywa dhidi ya wayahudi na wale wengine waliioonekana hawana nafasi katika jamii ya kijerumani.

Watu weusi tulikuwa na holocaust yetu. Kwa miaka mingi, mataifa ya wale ambao rangi zao zilikuwa nyeupe kulingana na sisi walikuja Afrika kutuvuna na kutupeleka kutumikishwa katika mashamba yao huko marekani ya kaskazini na kusini, carribean na kwa hapa nyumbani huko Pemba na Unguja. Wengine wetu walichukuliwa kwenda kuhudumia majumbani mwa wale waliojiona bora kuliko sisi huko ulaya, uarabuni n.k. Huko uarabuni wengi walihasiwa. Msingi wa hii biashara nzima ulikuwa ni kuwa mtu mweusi hastahili kuhesabiwa kama binadamu wengine. Yeye alikaribiana na wanyama hivyo ilikuwa halali kumuuza na kumliki kama ambavyo unaweza kummiliki ng'ombe au punda wako. Mama zetu walikuwa watu wa kuzalishwa wasio na haki yeyote juu ya miili yao. Yote haya yalikubalika katika jamii za wazungu na waarabu.

Afrika ya magharibi biashara ilimilikiwa na mataifa ya Ulaya na yale ya kaskazini mwa Afrika. Wazungu waliwasafirisha watu weusi kupitia bahari ya Atlantiki na wale wa Afrika ya Kaskazini kuvuka jangwa la sahara. Hapa kwetu biashara ilimilikiwa na waarabu kutoka Oman ambao baada ya muda walifungua soko kubwa la watumwa unguja ambapo watu weusi waliosafirishwa kupitia bandari za Bagamoyo, Mikindani, Kilwa n.k. walipigwa mnada.

Moja ya vitu walivyovifanya waingereza walipoingia Zanziba ni kumlazimisha Sultan kusimamisha hiyo haramu. Pale palipokuwa na soko la watumwa pakajengwa kanisa na pale palipokuwa na mlingoti wa kuwauzia hao watumwa pakawa ndiyo altare ya kanisa.

Inakuwaje leo hii, mtanzania (Befair) anaweza kuamka na kudai kuwa biashara ya utumwa unguja iliendeshwa ndani ya makanisa kama alivyoandika mwandishi hapo juu kwenye sehemu ya Dini/Imani? Inakuwaje, mtanzania mwingine (Zomba) anakuja anatetea uwongo huo?

Sasa kwa nini nimeileta hapa? Hapa kinachonitatiza si suala la dini, ni hilo la historia yangu. historia ya wale walionitangulia, waliokamatwa, kubebeshwa mizigo na hatimaye kuuzwa kama punda na hao waliojiona kuwa ni waungwana. Uandikishaji upya wa historia ndiyo mwanzo wa kuweka mizizi ya chuki katika sehemu moja ya jamii yetu. Kama hao, ambao ni wachache, ndio waliosababisha babu zetu kuuzwa kwa nini tusibebe mawe na kuwavurumusha? Kwa nini tusibomoe hilo kanisa lao na kuweka kitu kingine mbadala?

Mawazo kama haya ya kichonganishi ndiyo yaliyowafikisha wenzetu huko Ireland, Rwanda, Yugoslavia ya zamani na sasa huko Kenya hapo walipo hivi sasa. Maneno ya kichochezi kama haya yanatakiwa kukemewa na wale wote wenye nia njema na taifa letu. Mimi sijui historia inafundishwa vipi huko Zanzibar. Lakini kama huu ni mfano wa matokeo ya mafunzo hayo, tuna matatizo makubwa mbele yetu. Ni imani yangu kwa dhati kuwa kuna vitu ambavyo inatubidi kama waafrika kusimama pamoja bila kujali itikadi au dini zetu. Hili ni mojawapo. Mungu atunusuru wote.

Amini usiamini mimi mada kama hii siipendi maana naona ni ya kichochezi. Lakini ninachoogopa zaidi ni kama imani kama hizi zinasambazwa athari yake itakuwa mbaya zaidi. Mimi sijawahi kufundishwa kuwa waislamu walisababisha utumwa bali waarabu ndiyo waliohusika. Hawa walianza hiyo biashara hata kabla uislamu haujaiingia uarabuni. Sijawahi kufundishwa mahali popote kuwa dini ya kiislamu ndiyo iliyowatuma kuingia kwenye hii biashara. Sijawahi kuambiwa kuwa misikiti ilitumika katika hii biashara. Ninachojua na kushudia hasa baada ya kwenda Bagamoyo na Mikindani na Kilwa ni kuwa biashara hii iliendeshwa na jamii zenye asili ya uarabuni zikishirikiana na baadhi ya makabila yetu. Leo mtu kukana na kujaribu kugeuza kibao na kudai watumwa waliuzwa makanisani (kanisa lililojengwa baada ya utumwa kupigwa marufuku) inatupeleka vibaya. Huyu naamini anataka kutumia dini kupandikiza mbegu ya chuki. Huyu, naamini anastahili kukemewa kwa sauti kali na watu wote wenye nia njema. Kama vile mimi nitastahili kukemewa kama nitasema utumwa uliletwa na waislamu nchini mwetu. Lakini kama kuna mwenzangu ana ushahidi kuwa biashara ya utumwa hapa kwetu iliendeshwa kweli na wakristu aseme na atoe mifano hai. Tunapoanza kutetea uovu kwa sababu aliyesema au aliyesema ni mwenzetu kikabila au kidini ndio mwanzo wa mwisho wa jamii yetu.

Ninachopinga hapa ni upotoshaji wa historia kukidhi mahitaji ya kidini. Watu wote tunajua utumwa ulianzaje hapa kwetu, watu wote tunajua biashara ya utumwa ilipigwa marufuku lini nchini Zanziba (mwaka 1873 na Sultan Bharghash), wote tunajua Kanisa Kuu la Kianglikana Mkunazini lilijengwa lini (1873 hadi 1880), wote tunajua Kanisa la Kikatoliki Zanziba lilijengwa lini (msingi uliwekwa mwaka 1896 na misa ya kwanza ilifanyika krismasi 1898)! Sasa kwa nini wewe ambaye unadai ni ndugu yangu anapokuja mtu ambae anajaribu kuni'demonise' hauamki ukanitetea? Kwa nini unaona uzito kusema kuwa biashara ya utumwa haikufanyika kutoka kwenye kanisa la kianglikana mkunazini kwa sababu lilijengwa baada ya biashara hiyo kupigwa marufuku? Hii ni historia iliyo wazi na bado inakushinda kuizungumzia. Hapana, kuna haja ya kuung'oa mzizi wa fitina kabla haujaota matawi.

THE SLAVE MARKET AT ZANZIBAR.

A sketch of the effects of the cyclone at Zanzibar, and a view of the British Consulate in that East African seaport town, were engraved in our last week's Paper, having been furnished by Lieutenant W.W. Henn, R.N., one of the officers of the Livingstone Search Expedition, under Lieutenant Llewellyn Dawson. Zanzibar possesses the only open slave market now existing in the world. The place, of which Lieutenant Henn sends us a sketch, is an irregular, unpaved, oblong space, fifty yards by thirty yards in extent, three of its sides consisting of palm-thatched huts, the fourth presenting stone buildings of more respectable pretensions. The sale generally takes place about four o'clock in the afternoon, and at five business may be said to be at its height. The centre of the market is occupied by the slaves, who are seated in rows on the ground. Walking about and criticising the various lots are to be seen men of every race belonging to Eastern Africa and Arabia, from the wily Arab of Oman, who means to purchase thirty or forty slaves, to the fierce Somauli who intends a small speculation of three or four only. The English stranger is looked upon here with anything but favour by these gentlemen, especially if his aspect is at all nautical; as the ship of war in harbour is only waiting for the change of the monsoon, at which time the numerous slave carrying dhows make sail for the north. She will then lie in wait for them, and capture such of those vessels as may fall in her way. Apart from the other slaves, and standing up, are to be seen the choice female specimens. It is a revolting sight to watch a lascivious Arab, wishing to add stock to his harem, handling and examining the objects of his purchase before closing a bargain. The average price of male slaves is from 15 dols. to 20 dols., but the female slaves and concubines sell at from 40 dols. to 120 dols. About six o'clock the purchasers and the purchased begin to leave the market, and by seven the place is entirely deserted. When well attended, the number of slaves and buyers here will often exceed 600. The reader who wishes for local information is referred to Captain R.F. Burton's book, "Zanzibar City, Island, and Coast," in two volumes, lately published by Messrs. Tinsley Brothers.

Mimi nimekuambia mara nyingi uanzishe thread mpya unapochanganya mada, sasa hii kama unataka ijibiwe hapa ungeihamisha na majibu yote uliyopewa kule, sio unakatakata unayoyataka wewe. kajibu hoja kule, wacha kuzunguka-zunguka wakati huna majibu kutoka kwenye biblia.

3)The church's admission follows similar apologies by the late Pope John Paul II for the historic transgressions of the Roman Catholic church, its anti-semitism and the Inquisition.

Speakers in the synod debate acknowledged that the church had played its part in justifying slavery during the long campaign by William Wilberforce and others such as the former slave ship captain turned minister John Newton, composer of the hymn Amazing Grace, to secure its abolition. Wilberforce brought bills before parliament for 20 successive years until legislation to abolish the trade was passed.

Huu ni upuuzi, kwani mtu mweusi hajafanya biashara ya kuuza na kununuwa watumwa? wanaotufanya watu weusi tujione kuwa ni inferior ni historians wenye imani ya u"white supremacy" NA HAKUNA JEMA WATALOLIANDIKA KWA WATU WEUSI. Inabidi sisi wenyewe tufanye researches zetu ambazo haziko biased na tunazo sources nyingi sana, kwa mfano mafirauni walizagaa, na historical remains zipo mpaka leo, kwenye fukwe nzima za mto nile na hawa walijenga majumba na mahekalu na mapyramids ambayo mpaka leo ni gumzo la dunia na hawa ni watu weusi na historical facts zinaonyesha walichukuwa watumwa kutoka sehemu mbali-mbali na hata wayahudi walishakuwa watumwa wa hawa watu. In 1854 and 1856 Ferdinand de Lesseps obtained a concession from Said Pasha, the viceroy of Egypt, to create a company to construct a maritime Canal open to ships of all nations, according to plans created by Austrian engineer Alois Negrelli. The company was to operate the canal by leasing the relevant land, for 99 years from its opening, for navigation. De Lesseps had used his friendly relationship with Said, which he had developed while he was a French diplomat during the 1830s. The Suez Canal Company (Compagnie Universelle du Canal Maritime de Suez) came into being on December 15, 1858.

Kwa hiyo u-Arabu na u-Afrika unaouzungumzia ulikuwa haujulikani kuwa ni ugawanyikaji wa kiardhi bali ulikuwa ni mgawanyiko wa kilugha. Kwani mpaka sasa Wa-Arabu wengi zaidi wanaishi katika kontinenti la Afrika kuliko wanaoishi kontineti la Asia au in-particular Arabian Peninsular. Ukichukuwa Waarabu wote waliopo Arabian peninsular hawafikii hata 10% ya wa-Arabu waliopo Afrika, kwa mfano Misri peke yake ina waarabu wasiopunguwa millioni 80, mbalili ya nchi zingine kama vile, Tunisia, Algeria, Mauritania, Morocco, Libya, Sudan bila ya kuzisahau nchi za Afrika Mashariki ambazo nazo zina wa-Arabu wengi natives.

Biashara ya utumwa Zanzibar na dunia nzima, haikuwa ya kabila fulani au dini fulani au taifa fulani. Kuna historical writings zinzoonyesha kuwa in one way or the other hakuna wa kukwepa hilo. Iwe ni MwaAfrika, Mzungu, Mchina, Mhindi awe ni mkristo muislam au hana dini, wote walikuwa involved na ilikuwa ni biashara halali kwa wakati huo. ukiichukulia kidini. Swali la kujiuliza jee ni dini gani, iliyoweka mikakati ya makusudi kabisa kuumaliza utumwa? Jibu utakuta ni Uislamu tu. Na hilo lina proof za wazi kabisa.

Tippu Tip or Tib (1837 - June 14, 1905), real name Hamed bin Mohammed bin Juma bin Rajab bin Mohammed bin Said el Murgebi, was a Swahili-Zanzibari trader, notorious slaver, plantation owner and governor. Working for a succession of sultans of Zanzibar, he led many trading expeditions into east-central Africa, sometimes involving slave trade and ivory. He constructed profitable trading posts that reached deep into Central Africa.

He built himself a trading empire that he then translated into clove plantations on Zanzibar. Abdul Sheriff reports that when he left for his twelve years of "empire building" on the mainland, he had no plantiations of his own. However, by 1895 he had acquired "seven shambas [plantations] and 10,000 slaves." (Sheriff, 108)

His mother, Bint Habib bin Bushir, was a Muscat Arab of the ruling class. His father and paternal grandfather were coastal Swahili who had taken part in the earliest trading expeditions to the interior. His paternal great-grandmother, wife of Rajab bin Mohammed bin Said el Murgebi was the daughter of Juma bin Mohammed el Nebhani, a member of a respected Muscat (Oman) family, and an African woman from the village of Mbwa Maji, a small village south of the then German capital of Dar es Salaam. He met and helped several famous western explorers of the African continent, including Henry Morton Stanley. Between 1884 and 1887, el Murgebi claimed the Eastern Congo for himself and for the Sultan of Zanzibar, Bargash bin Said el Busaidi. In spite of his position as protector of Zanzibar's interests in Congo, he managed to maintain good relations with the Europeans. When, in August 1886, fighting broke out between Arabs (Swahili) and the representatives of King Leopold of Belgium at Stanley Falls, el Murgebi went to the Belgian consul at Zanzibar to assure him of his "good intentions." Although he was still a force in central African politics, he could see by 1886 that power in the region was shifting. In early 1887, Stanley arrived in Zanzibar and proposed that Tippu Tip be made governor of the Stanley Falls District in the Congo Free State. Both Leopold and Sultan Barghash bin Said agreed and on Feb. 24, 1887, Hamed bin Mohammed el Murgebi accepted. (Bennett and Brode)

Around 1890/91 he returned to Zanzibar where he retired. He wrote his autobiography which is the first example of this literary genre in Kiswahili. El Murgebi wrote his autobiography in Kiswahili in Arabic script. Dr. Heinrich Brode, who knew him in Zanzibar, transcribed the manuscript into Roman script and translated it into German. It was subsequently translated into English and published in Britain in 1907.

He died June 13, 1905 of malaria (according to Brode) in his home in Stone Town, the main town on the island of Zanzibar.

In 1854 and 1856 Ferdinand de Lesseps obtained a concession from Said Pasha, the viceroy of Egypt, to create a company to construct a maritime Canal open to ships of all nations, according to plans created by Austrian engineer Alois Negrelli. The company was to operate the canal by leasing the relevant land, for 99 years from its opening, for navigation. De Lesseps had used his friendly relationship with Said, which he had developed while he was a French diplomat during the 1830s. The Suez Canal Company (Compagnie Universelle du Canal Maritime de Suez) came into being on December 15, 1858.

Biashara ya utumwa ilipigwa marufuku mwaka 1873. Kanisa hilo lilijengwa kati ya mwaka 1873 hadi 1880. Hayo mashimo unayozungumzia ni sehemu ya kumbukumbu kama vile kujenga altare palipokuwa mti walipofungiwa, kuchapwa na kunadiwa watumwa. Hayo mashimo hayajawahi kutumika kuhifadhia watumwa wakati wa uhai wa kanisa hilo. Huu ndio upotoshaji ninaouzungumzia.

Unataka kuwa sisi wote ni waarabu au waarabu wote ni waafrika?Unataka kuniambia kuwa hao ndugu zetu waliotokea Omani hawakujihusisha kabisa na biashara ya utumwa. Waliojihusisha walikuwa waafrika kama Tippu Tip? Tippu Tip ambaye baba yake alikuwa mswahili( mwenye damu ya kiarabu na mama muarabu kutoka ukoo wa kifalme). Si ndiyo maana nilikuleta hapa ili ujionyeshe ignorance yako!
