You mean Tanzanian banks don't do business with the government? The main reason Kenyan banks do business with the government is the interest rate cap which was intentionally lowered to discourage banks from lending SME's and individuals and instead fund the government's projects. Otherwise there are other profitable lines for banks beyond the government. Right now Kenyan companies are rushing to Eth, South Sudan, Somalia and DRC because of the untapped market. I was expectng to see a similar reaction from TZ but its close to neglegible.
