Battle: Dar es Salaam vs Nairobi

Umemaliza au bado😆😆😆😆 aisee sijapata kuona mkenya fala kama ww

Of course Huruma is not one of the best estates in Nairobi but calling it a slum is just loaghable. if Huruma is a slum, then I don't know what I would call Mwananyamala or Gongo la mboto. 80% of houses in Huruma are apartment blocks with running water so I don't know how that qualifies to be called a slum. I have friends living in Huruma some paying up to Ksh15,000 in rent. Hizo ni 300,000 shillings pesa za madafu. The estate may have a number of issues like insecurity and poor drainage system but to say it's a slum is beyond comprehension. Below are a few pictures of Huruma

huruma residents can relate

And that is my point... even from the picture you posted above, it clearly shows a row of apartment blocks with some occupants even owning cars. I don't understand how someone would live in a slum if they own a car. Those houses are self-contained with running water, kitchen and bathroom inside. How would you say that's a slum? The estate may have a number of issues like those highlited above but I can guarantee you that not many residents of estates like Mwananyamala, Mbagala, Mazense, Temeke, Buguruni, Tandale, Kigogo or Vugunguti among many other Dar slums would afford to live in Huruma which you ignorantly call a slum

Unfortunately my broda unlike you, my views are not personal, this is what the internet tells me

Show

Show me any form of planning here. Then show me any footpath, playground or social amenities in these Dar estates. A clear case of the pot calling the kettle black

The topic here is whether or not huruma is a slum. Hizi picha hazina necessity yoyote, i might just as well bring photos of kibera or kawangware here but i am obviously not stupid.

Believe what you want. At least I have told you what I know from a perspective of a Nairobi resident. It's even stupid for you to want me to believe a Wikipedia article like that one above. Hata hiyo kayole imeandukwa hapo is not a slum...way better than most middle income estates in Dar. 80-90% of roads in Dandora roads are tamarcked and houses are apartment blocks just like Huruma. Anyway, this is a battle, na kila mtu anavuta upande wake. What I say won't change your perception about Nairobi just the same way what you say won't change mine about Dar. But at the end of the day, everyone knows which is the best city between these two. Kila mtu anajua mji wenye umuhimu zaidi ukanda huu inapatikana wapi. That's the most important thing to me

I brought those pictures just to remind you that you are trying so hard to force something become what it's not simply because you've read some random negative comments about it on the internet

And by the way, those pictures of Dar I posted above...are those slums or middle income estates or is that generally how Dar es Salaam looks like? Just curious
