Battle: Dar es Salaam vs Nairobi

Battle: Dar es Salaam vs Nairobi

Unajipa umuhimu usio nao. South Sudan is a sovereign state, has nothing to do with Kenya
Kenya played a lead role in South Sudan independence bongolala. All negotiations were held in Kenya and led by Kenyans (Google General Lazaro Sumbeiywo).

Kenya served as the chief mediator in South Sudan's journey to independence where it hosted several peace negotiations. Key among them is the Machakos Protocol of 2002. It also led the IGAD process. The country ultimately oversaw the signing of the Comprehensive Peace Agreement (CPA) in Naivasha, in January 2005 which paved the way for an autonomous period which culminated in the referendum in 2011 that led to the birth of the Republic of South Sudan.

Throughout all these, Kenya provided a safe haven for exiled South Sudanese leaders and provided a home to hundreds of thousands of south Sudanese, majority of whom still call Kenya home todate!

Kenya stood with South Sudan through war, diplomacy and even celebrations. As a gesture of appreciation, South Sudan even copied Kenyan colours and patterns in their national flag.
