Egypt and Tanzania welcomed positive developments in consultations aimed at restoring inclusivity to the Nile Basin Initiative (NBI) and rejected unilateral actions concerning the river, the Egyptian foreign ministry said on Monday.

The statements followed a telephone conversation between Egypt’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, Emigration and Egyptian Expatriates, Badr Abdelatty, and Tanzanian Foreign Minister Mahmoud Thabit Kombo. Discussing water security, Abdelatty emphasised the importance of cooperation and integration on the Nile River to achieve mutual benefit. He highlighted the necessity of adhering to a spirit of consensus and brotherhood to restore inclusivity to the NBI in accordance with international law.

The two ministers also reviewed the Julius Nyerere dam project in Tanzania, which is being implemented by Egyptian companies. Kombo commended the efficiency and expertise of the Egyptian firms executing major developmental projects, including the dam. Both diplomats noted the project as a significant development in advancing bilateral ties and shared economic, investment, trade, industrial, and developmental interests.

Addressing wider regional developments, particularly in the Horn of Africa and the Great Lakes region, Abdelatty and Kombo stressed the importance of supporting national state institutions. They affirmed the need to respect the unity, sovereignty, and territorial integrity of states, rejecting any measures that could compromise stability or undermine national institutions.

The ministers agreed on the importance of adopting comprehensive approaches to address the continent’s security and developmental challenges, committing to enhanced bilateral and multilateral coordination to support shared interests, stability, and development.

Your ignorance of Diplomacy and Protocol issues cannot remove any truth.
Kwenye uwanja wa Diplomasia zipo aina 5 za Visits. And In diplomacy all protocols are the same regardless the country. Do you know why there is protocol in International relations?

Type of Visits:
State Visit - Rais anapigiwa mizinga 21 (All members of UN)
Official Visit - Hakuna mizinga
Working Visit - Hakuna mizinga
Private Visit - Hakuna Mizinga na hakuna big welcome
Cooperation/Humanitarian Visit - Hakuna mizinga.

Your ignorance and lack of knowledge of international relations cannot eliminate the things that are happening to Kenyans who do not know Diplomacy and Protocol.
You can hide behind Diplomacy protocol but it will not negate the fact that Ruto was treated like the second coming of Obama . Let’s see Samia do similar state visit to Kenya and compare how many curious people will show up to cheer for her holding flags ..I bet less than 20 ( if more just Bongo Omba Omba residents in Kenya). 😆😆😆

You Lack exposure beyond Tandale …. I will put it this way as a matter of fact …. ELIUD KiPCHOGE would attract bigger crowd of Americans waving Kenyan flags than any President of any country in the world if he touched down on US soil. And since Samia has been exposed as an election thief, Kenyans especially Gen Z’s would actually protest her state visit to Kenya…No respect!… so you can keep and eat your diplomacy protocols…🤣🤣
