DAR ES SALAAM, Dec. 30 -- The opening ceremony of the 25-day-long China-Tanzania joint military training, code-named “Sincere Partners-2019”, was held at a comprehensive training center in Tanzania on December 23, 2019.
Over 300 personnel including Major General He Xinchong, Chinese chief military expert in Tanzania, Major General Alfred Kapinga, the head of training and operations of the Tanzania People's Defense Force (TPDF), the participating military members from China and Tanzania as well as representatives of troops from the comprehensive training center, attended the ceremony.
Major General Kapinga said in his speech that the joint training, code-named “sincere partners”, highlighted the deep friendship and close cooperation between the two sides since the 1960s.
Senior Colonel Shen Hanjiang, commander of Chinese participating troops and deputy chief of staff of the PLA 73rd Group Army, said in his speech that this joint training is another promotion of cooperation and exchange between the two armed forces following “Beyond 2014” China-Tanzania Marine Corps joint training, and is also the first joint training involving the land forces of both sides.
After the opening ceremony, both sides’ participating troops demonstrated weapons and equipment o each other. It is learnt that the joint training will last about 25 days, which mainly includes the exchange of combat experience and skills, joint actual-troop drill and command post exercise. During the joint training, the participating troops will also carry out some colorful cultural and sports friendship activities.

US Orders M28 Skytruck Transport Aircraft for Nepal

The US Air Force has awarded a contract to Polish firm PZL Mielec to produce and deliver two M28 Skytruck transport aircraft to Nepal.
Valued at $30.3 million, the light cargo planes will replace the only M28 in service with the Nepalese Air Force.
According to the US Department of Defense, the company will also provide associated aircraft training, spare parts, and six months of field service representative services.
Work for the contract will be carried out in southeastern Poland and is expected to be complete by April 2025.
In 2019, the US also bought an M28 Skytruck transport aircraft for Nepal under a $19-million agreement.
The M28 Skytruck
An improved version of the Antonov An-28, the M28 Skytruck is a twin-engine, short take-off and landing aircraft originally designed for the Polish Air Force.
It can take off and land from unpaved ground landing sites, making it suitable for Nepal’s short, high-altitude runways.
Additionally, it has a semi-monocoque hull that allows for the installation of cargo loads, landing equipment, passenger seats, and special equipment operator stands.
The M28 can carry up to three crew members and 18 military personnel at a maximum speed of 350 kilometers (217 miles) per hour.
Apart from cargo transport, the aircraft can support a variety of missions, including maritime patrol, reconnaissance, and medical evacuation.
It can also be used to airdrop equipment or transport small infiltration units.

Kenya is the only African country allowed to buy and operate these MD550F Cayuse warrior Helios ( though Nigeria got approved last year )…. And before a Bongolala wonder what that means… The United States 🇺🇸 picks and chooses whom to sell or use their military equipment…money is not the motive..Many countries get denied just like a visa . They even control third and fourth party sales … for example when kingdom of Jordan 🇯🇴 wanted to make a deal for Cobras with Sudan, the US stopped it (Jordan bought them from the US) and instead the Cobras were sold to Kenya 🇰🇪 ( second hand )and as of today , Kenya Air Force remains the only one in Africa operating Cobra attack Helios …. I don’t even understand why some people compare KDF to TPDF … it’s not even close …that’s just two types of helicopters found nowhere else in Africa… MD550F and Bell Cobra attack ..There are other equipment that only KDF has in Africa especially in reconnaissance.
