University are ranked based on Research ,publications,impact ,Quality of lecturers and of course the quality of brains admitted over there....as well as the set qualification criteria for admission into them.That's why Strathmore business school is small but try googling what Strathmore business school does to mould it's students . ....you will want your child to be there like tomorrow...........It sometimes beats even the top Kenyan public universities to be at the very top

according to you we should just wow at buildings .......mmh.The world is like a double loop where competition and ranking will dictate forever whether we like it or not.....that's why even tiny colleges in Europe rank above our best varsities and there's nothing we can do about it but try and do better
