the city of eldoret.!🔥
nb: here eldoret somewhat looks like a bloemfontein, south africa😆
a brief history about eldoret:
eldoret has close ties with south africa from the colonial period to date. the massive wheat farms in eldoret is attributed to the dutch/boers from south africa, who came to settle in this area after an MOU was signed with the then british colonisers. infact alot of buildings and streets in eldoret are named after the afrikaan speaking boers. eg. TheJohannesburgHouse. a significant mark or influence of the dutch in this city can be witnessed through the many forms of architecture design of most buildings.
when fredrick de clerk paid a courtesy call to kenya in the early 90s, eldoret was his first stop. for this reasons, some pan africanists would blame moi regime for dealing and having close trading ties with the gruesome apartheid south africa 🇿🇦
