I think there is a big difference between Ghetto and Slums. I don't understand how you can call an estate full of apartments slum. Slum the world over means houses that are completely substandard for example houses made of mud, mabati, carton boxes, or even polythene. Sasa nyumba ya ghorofa na ina maji, stima, choo, na bafu ndani, balcony, sitting room, bedroom na imejengwa na mawe utaaiitaje slum? Utaicompare vipi na nyumba za Kibera zenye zimejengwa na mabati? So these estates of Umoja, Githurai e.t.c can be called Ghetto, I have no problem with that but they cannot be called slums.

Okay, me hujua neno ghetto na slum means same thing, alright.., no wander if u check Nairobi slums, most of the places mentioned ziko na flats kibao kukiko 'mabati' houses by far!

Got it; so Nairobi has more ghetto than slums, a distinction needs to be made; thanks.
