🚨🎙️MIKEL ARTETA: “WINNING BOTH UCL & EPL WOULD BE BIGGER THAN THE INVINCIBLES” 🏆🏆
🎙️ Reporter: Mikel, what are the main objectives for Arsenal this season? Is it finally about winning the Premier League and the Champions League?
🔴 Arteta:
“Absolutely. Those are the two main objectives for us this season. Of course, I believe we can win both. You cannot be at Arsenal and set your ambitions below the highest level. We have to believe we are capable of competing for every major trophy.
🎙️ Reporter: You sound very confident. Do you genuinely believe this team can win the Premier League and Champions League in the same season?
🔴 Arteta:
“Yes, I do. I believe in this team, I believe in the players and I believe in the work we have done. Obviously, believing is one thing and achieving it is another, because the Premier League and Champions League demand consistency, mentality and an incredible level of performance.
But if we do everything right, why should we be afraid to say we want to win both?
🎙️ Reporter: If Arsenal actually achieves that, where would you rank this team in the club’s history?
🔴 Arteta:
“I think people would start talking about this team very differently. Winning the Premier League and the Champions League in the same season would be something extraordinary.
People will always talk about the Invincibles, and they deserve that respect because what they achieved was incredible. To go through an entire Premier League season unbeaten is something that may never be repeated.
But if you ask me personally, winning the Premier League and the Champions League in the same season would be even bigger.
🎙️ Reporter: Bigger than the Invincibles?
🔴 Arteta:
“Yes. Because you are talking about winning the biggest domestic competition and then becoming champions of Europe in the same season. That would put this group in a completely different conversation.
But we are not thinking about history yet. History is made after you achieve something, not before.
Our job is simple: believe, work, compete and win. If we can do that, then maybe one day people will look back at this Arsenal team and say, ‘That was one of the greatest teams this club has ever had.’
And that is exactly the standard we are chasing.”
