With Arsenal's season stumbling towards another disappointing finish in the Premier League, attention is already turning to what business the club will do in the transfer market this summer to get themselves competing again towards the top of the table.
Preparations are already being put in place at the Emirates ahead of what is expected to be a busy summer, with the club keen to get business done early.
Several names have already been linked, with the likes of Max Meyer, Ousmane Dembele and Caglar Soyuncu all said to be on Arsenal's radar ahead of the 2018/19 season.
But who is it that makes the decisions at the club when it comes to bringing new faces in? We take a look at the transfer and scouting network at Arsenal and how the extensive recruitment system is headed up.
Sven Mislintat - Head of recruitment
This will be the first summer transfer window with the German in place as head of recruitment at Arsenal.
Mislintat arrived from Borussia Dortmund in November, taking on the role previously held by Steve Rowley at the top of Arsenal’s scouting network.
The Gunners have already started to feel Mislintat's influence with young Greek defender Konstantinos Mavropanos arriving on his recommendation in January, he also played a key role in the deal to sign Pierre Emerick-Aubameyang from former club Borussia Dortmund.
The German works directly with Arsene Wenger in terms of identifying targets - both abroad and domestically.
Francis Cagigao - Head of international recruitment
Having started out as a scout, Cagigao has worked his way up the ladder at Arsenal to become head of international recruitment.
His future has been in some doubt, however, with clubs in Spain keen to lure him away with a director of football role.
He is contracted until 2020 at Arsenal and currently heads up the club’s international recruitment, so will work alongside Mislintat - who will now oversee the entire scouting network at the Emirates.
Cagigao played a key role in bringing Cesc Fabregas to Arsenal from Barcelona, as well as the deals for Hector Bellerin and Santi Cazorla.
Raul Sanllehi - Head of football relations
Like Mislintat, this will be Sanllehi's first summer transfer window at Arsenal, having only officially begun his new role at the Emirates in February.
He has come across from Barcelona, where he had operated as director football for nearly 10 years - working on some of the biggest transfers of all time, including the deal that took Neymar to the Camp Nou.
Sanllehi’s chief role in terms of Arsenal’s future transfer dealings will be conducting the negotiations, both with the player and the other club involved in the deal.
He does have a huge contacts book, however, and will work closely with Mislintat in identifying potential targets.
Huss Fahmy - Contract negotiator
Fahmy began work at Arsenal in the summer having left Team Sky, where he had been the cycling team’s legal and commercial expert.
While Sanllehi will deal with the early part of contract negotiations, Fahmy’s role is centred around the final parts of the deal, including any legal aspects of the contract - such as image rights and other commercial interests.
He is a qualified lawyer and a director of the British Association for Sport and Law.
Ivan Gazidis - chief executive
Arsenal’s chief executive will work alongside Sanllehi when negotiating with club’s and trying to strike a deal.
He is also expected to have a close working relationship with Sven Mislintat in terms of player recruitment, although Arsene Wenger insisted that wouldn’t be the case following Mislintat’s arrival.
Gazidis is also the boardroom link with majority shareholder Stan Kroenke, who ultimately decides whether the deal can happen.
Stan Kroenke - Majority shareholder
As above, any deal that goes through at Arsenal needs to get the green light from the club’s majority shareholder over in America.
