Bacary Sagna believes the 5-0 hammering of Porto will have silenced the critics who labelled Arsenal a one-man team. The Gunners cruised past their opponents into the Champions League last eight - and without Cesc Fabregas.

'We are a team first,' said Sagna. 'It's not about one player, even though Cesc is very talented. We showed that everyone can play.
'Of course, Cesc is welcome in the team, he's the captain, which means a lot, and he's a very good player. But we're approximately 25 players at Arsenal, so we play as a team. 'It was quite difficult tonight, we had to win if we wanted to go through. But we were able to score quite quickly and the game became a bit easier for us. We kept pressurising and that was important. You have to congratulate the team for what we did.'

Arsene Wenger all smiles after 'stylish' win {Bofya}

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger says his side's 5-0 win over FC Porto in the quarter-final of the Champions League was "controlled and attacking", and he is full of praise for hat-trick hero Nicklas Bendtner.

While Bendtner grabbed the match ball with two routine finishes and a stoppage time penalty, Wenger was quick to praise the impact of Samir Nasri and Andrei Arshavin whose pace and trickery tore Porto to pieces on the slick Emirates carpet. Such was their impact that the absence of captain Cesc Fabregas went almost unnoticed while Nasri's exquisite solo dribble for Arsenal's third goal was sheer class.
"Nasri is developing very well," Wenger said. "What he showed tonight he shows in training and we expected that to come out in the games. "He is a player with talent and he showed that tonight like he did on Saturday and he has started to be efficient now. Tonight he made the first goal and scored a great goal. Great players assist and score goals."

Arsenal's thumping win finally allowed them to overturn a first-leg deficit in Europe for the first time since they beat Hajduk Split on away goals in the 1978-79 season. "The statistics were against us," Wenger said of the nine subsequent occasions that Arsenal had failed to recover from a first leg defeat. "But historical statistics don't mean a lot if you have a good team on the pitch."

Mkuu naona ulikuwa vekeshen kidogo ... ... ...

Nasri receives the ball from Abou Diaby on the right wing. His options seem limited as he is well marked by Raul Meireles, and Cristian Rodriguez comes across to assist his team-mate. But Nasri begins his run by shepherding the ball inside Raul Meireles

Nasri's problems get worse, as left back Alvaro Pereira joins the defensive posse. But the little Frenchman shows fantastic close control, feinting to go inside (dotted arrow) for a left-foot shot, then dropping his right shoulder and heading into the area.

Diaby (bottom of frame) is by now reduced to a mesmerised spectator, as Nasri plots his route to Porto's goal. With Raul Meireles and Rodriguez now snapping at his heels, Nasri dummies the bemused Alvaro Pereira left and then cuts past him on the right to the byline.

The Porto defence are expecting a cross, but Nasri has other ideas. As Alvaro Pereira makes a last despairing lunge, Nasri caps his wonder goal with his 14th touch, a right-foot shot across goalkeeper Helton. The ball clips the inside of the far post and goes in.

Wenger warning for Real

Gunners boss tells Spanish giants, 'leave me alone'

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has told Real Madrid they would be wasting their time if they launch another attempt to lure him to the Bernabeu.
Reports in Spain suggest that Real manager Manuel Pellegrini

is on the brink of the sack after the Primera Liga leaders were dumped out of the UEFA Champions League

by Lyon to fail to reach the quarter-finals for a sixth successive year.
Pellegrini was already under pressure, with suggestions he does not have the support of president Florentino Perez

after more than £200million of summer investment, and Wenger

has been a long-term target.
The Spaniards tried to capture the Gunners boss before appointing Pellegrini last June and they are expected to renew interest in the Frenchman if they begin a new search for a fresh manager.
No guarantee

But Wenger has strongly stated his intentions, saying: "Leave me alone. I am always going to stay to the end of my contract and I am going (to stay at Arsenal) until 2011. There is no way I am going to break it.
"For me, it is the worst possible moment to come back on that. At the moment my focus is fully on Hull City (on Saturday) they may be less glamorous than Real Madrid, but they are much more important in my life at the moment."
He added: "It shows that £240million does not necessarily buy you the Champions League and that in Europe you have no guarantee of success.
"If you can spend that kind of money every year, you will get there in the end, but at the moment it is difficult for them to take.
"In the last five years we have been in the final, a semi-final and two quarter-finals in England we don't rate that as an achievement any more because we are used to it, but that consistency is not easy to achieve."

naona madrid wakamchukue mourhino sasa, pound mil 200 yao ya usajili imeliwa.wasubiri next season na wakileta ujinga next season bila kusajili beki za maana ngoma yao itakuwa ngumu vile vile.
