Watu wanne wamepigwa risasi na Polisi Mjini Kisumu katika Siku ya Mwisho ya Maandamano ya Azimio

Watu hao wanaendelea na matibabu katika Vituo vya Jaramogi Oginga Odinga Teaching na Hospitari ya JOOTRH baada ya kujeruhiwa kwa risasi katika maandamano yaliyoratibiwa na Azimio la Umoja One Kenya.

Mmoja kati ya waliojeruhiwa ni Afisa Afya wa JOOTRH ambaye alipigwa risasi ya bega akiwa katika eneo la nyumbani kwake, wengine watatu alipigwa risasi katika maeneo ya Kasawino, Kondele na Manyatta.

Inadaiwa kuna taarifa za Askari Polisi kuvamia maeneo ya makazi ya watu na kuwapiga wenyeji.

Wakati huohuo, Hospitali ya JOOTRH imefanikiwa kutoa risasi 12 kutoka katika mwili wa kijana mwenye umri wa miaka 18 ambaye alishambuliwa akiwa alipokuwa eneo la Nyalenda wakati wa maandamano Julai 19, 2023, ripoti ya Hospitali imesema mgonjwa anaendelea vizuri.

Four people are nursing police gunshot wounds at the Jaramogi Oginga Odinga Teaching and Referral Hospital (JOOTRH) on the last day of protests called by the Azimio la Umoja One Kenya coalition leadership.

Among the four include a medical officer (clinician) attached to JOOTRH who was shot in the Carwash area.

According to the hospital management, the medic was at his house when a stray bullet caught him on the left shoulder.

The three others were shot in Kasawino, Kondele and Manyatta areas respectively and are all set to undergo surgical operations.

There have been reports of anti-riot police officers storming residential areas like Manyatta, Kondele Bandani, and Nyalenda beating up locals.

Meanwhile, the medics at JOOTRH have managed to remove 12 bullets from the body of an 18-year-old man who was shot in Nyalenda during Wednesday’s protests. The hospital says he is in stable condition.

Miongoni mwa hao wanne ni pamoja na afisa wa matibabu (mganga) anayehusishwa na JOOTRH ambaye alipigwa risasi katika eneo la Carwash. Kulingana na wasimamizi wa hospitali, mganga huyo alikuwa nyumbani kwake wakati risasi ilipomshika kwenye bega la kushoto. Wengine watatu walipigwa risasi katika maeneo ya Kasawino, Kondele na Manyatta mtawalia na wote wanatarajiwa kufanyiwa upasuaji. Kumekuwa na ripoti za maafisa wa polisi wa kupambana na fujo kuvamia maeneo ya makazi kama Manyatta, Kondele Bandani, na Nyalenda kuwapiga wenyeji. Wakati huo huo, madaktari katika JOOTRH wamefanikiwa kutoa risasi 12 kutoka kwa mwili wa kijana wa miaka 18 aliyepigwa risasi huko Nyalenda wakati wa maandamano ya Jumatano.
