She had to be good, she owned a publishing house and had access to a vast amount of material, and the history to go with it.

I benefited from the riches of "El Dorado".

I shall remain ever grateful.

Mkuu ulijihudhurisha nini kwenye uzinduzi huu: https://www.facebook.com/media/set/?set=a.607768679277453.1073741832.113723105348682&type=1

They are going to stab you if you brag.

They are going to stab you if you drag.

They are going to stab you if you gag.

Brag, drag, gag, all in a bag

They are going to stab you bad.

Kind of remind me of this quote from the good old book:

"But whereunto shall I liken this generation? It is like unto children sitting in the markets, and calling unto their fellows, And saying, We have piped unto you, and ye have not danced; we have mourned unto you, and ye have not lamented. For John came neither eating nor drinking, and they say, He hath a devil. The Son of man came eating and drinking, and they say, Behold a man gluttonous, and a winebibber, a friend of publicans and sinners. But wisdom is justified of her children" - JC

mimi siwapendi wanaopenda kukosoa wenzao

kisiitaarabu......?????
kingereza.........???
nipe maana ya hayo maneno maana kwenye kamusi yangu hayapo

Niliusikia huu.

Mimi ningependa an autobiography / memoirs, hizo speeches tunazijua.

Ila wamefanya vizuri kuziweka pamoja, worth a browse. I can't say Mkapa is not a wonk.

Speaking of Mkapa katika thread ya wakali wa Kiingereza, Henry Kissinger alikuja bongo Ibrahim Kaduma akashindwa kuongea naye ung'eng'e. Kissinger anaomba kuoneshwa "water closet" Mzee Kaduma anabung'aa, Mkapa wakati huo yuko Daily News ndo aka step in kuokoa jahazi.

Kuna mshua mmoja wa serikalini alikuwa anasema Mkapa anajua ung'eng'e kuliko mtumishi mwingine yeyote wa serikali.

Labda si JF tu yenye hatari ya kutumia standards ndogo.

Karucee mlete mwalimu wako bwana Nyani

It is a piece alright.

Nothing you could mistake for an Amby "Namby Pamby" Lusekelo's deadline beating sorry excuse for an article.

Although I am not too sure if the puffery aesthetics in rhetoric does not obscure clarity, and the substance is not rather genuinely elitist. Almost a Pythagorean sect's secret mathematical notation with sub formulas buried in a Dan Brown like plot filled with Russian Matryoshka dolls like literary devices.

Take that from someone who has been accused of being elitist.

I will take it he took enough comfort in the fact that the masses cannot read his diction, let alone follow his twists full of Roman references and Shakespeare's works which defacates on their democratic right to involvement in the civic leadership of the nation.

Failure or not, I cannot fathom a sane person openly advocating Nyerere to have had focused on the elites rather than the masses.

And I am rather to the right economically, even as I am liberal socially. So I would not have an issue with a healthy dose of elitism, also known as "sampling the population forward", but this guy was almost claiming some divine right for the elites like some Han dynasty direct descendant eyeing the throne.

I wouldn't call a distinguished president "none". That - clever wordplay or not - would be rather demeaning to his character if not belittling his august office.

2014 Pulitzer Prize: The winners are, Kiranga and Nyani Ngabu.

I doubt if he is pro-Nyerere, maybe a quasi sample of one of his article does not him justice - here is some sort of a representative selection:

That makes two of us.

Moreover, one could argue, with the authority of a playwright laureate like George Bernard Shaw to back him, that almost half of English in itself, being a kaleidoscope of a potpourri of a smorgasbord of illogical amalgamation and constructs of mostly medieval if not ancient Indo-European dialects, is hardly impressive anyhow.

Swahili has a more elegant logic and is more phonetically aligned, therefore, more intuitive.

But I have yet to see a thread discussing who is the best Swahili writer at JF.

Hahahaha....Haki ya Mungu. You really had to write all these complex vocabularies to make a point.
