US Election Coverage 2008

Nyani,

Mama alidai win at any cost or means.

Talk about dirty, kitchen sink stuff.

Hata kwao hawamtaki hata pale alipokuwa kwenye ticket.

i dont mean all of them, what i meant is that there are some who like us and we should not be carried away with that ( mtu akupendee tu and you jump into his wagon). and remember my friend that BO is half white, what makes him more black is the fact he has a black wife and pretty daughters with a dark complexion. Nenda wewe mweusi tititit ukagombee kama utachaguliwa. when the race issue ( rev Wright issue) began BO had to tell them kuwa he was born by a white mum, his grand parents are white and they also fear blacks, and that they should be rest assured he doesnt hate whites. Picture this kama BO angekuwa mweusi tititi what concrete reason would he have given them?

I must admit i cant change ur mentality, this racially equity thing is in you, ukikuwa utajuwa then utaelewa. please dont argue. Chao.

Dude,

You sound like Uncle Ruckus!

Nyani,

http://www.cnn.com/2008/POLITICS/05/14/navarrette/index.html?

In claiming victory in West Virginia last night, Hillary Clinton reiterated her last best argument as to why she should be the Democratic nominee: because only she can win in November.
Don't confuse that with what Clinton said in a debate just a few weeks ago about how she was confident that either she or her opponent could win in November.
How's that for chutzpah? She's arguing that the same person who couldn't win enough states in the spring against Barack Obama can win enough states in the fall against John McCain.
At least in West Virginia, Clinton chose her words more carefully than she did last week when she blurted out to USA Today that "Sen. Obama's support among working, hard-working Americans, white Americans, is weakening again" and how whites who had not completed college were supporting her.
Clinton sounded less like George Washington and more like George Wallace. Imagine a presidential primary where, after more than 16 months, almost two dozen debates, hundreds of speeches, millions of dollars, and countless chicken dinners, the rationale for electing someone boils down to this: Vote for me. I'm white. I can win because other whites will vote for me.
Why, this could be the new affirmative action. Whatever happened to merit?
Clinton's message in West Virginia was smoother. "I'm winning Catholic voters and Hispanic voters," she told supporters, "and blue-collar workers and seniors, the kind of people that Sen. McCain will be fighting for in the general election."
Meanwhile, some white Americans are turning themselves inside out to come up with excuses for why they're not supporting Obama. It seems like just yesterday that these folks were arguing there is no racism in the immigration debate, and now they're insisting there is no racism in the presidential election.
Some want to know why it isn't racist when 70 percent of African-Americans vote for Obama but it is when 70 percent of whites vote against him.
The answer has to do with history. Over the decades, black Americans have had plenty of opportunities to vote for white people for president. And they have done so. But this is the first time that white Americans have a chance to vote for an African-American with a shot at the presidency. And what are they doing?
Many are responding quite well. Obama won the votes of many, to borrow a phrase, "hardworking white Americans," in Wisconsin, Minnesota, Iowa, Nebraska and Wyoming. But, elsewhere, as Obama said in a recent interview, people may need to get their head around the concept of an African-American even seeking the presidency, let alone winning it.
That's understandable. There are places in this country where white Americans are still raised to think of black Americans as inferior. And then comes someone like Obama who has performed off the charts -- from Harvard Law School to the U.S. Senate and now, possibly, on to the White House. It's going to take some time to get used to all that, especially for people who never thought they'd see the day that an African-American would be elected president.
But understand this: They had better hurry up. That day may soon be here.

Huyo alieandika hiyo ni Hillary hater! Mbona siwasikii wazungu waliomfikisha Obama hapo alipo wakiwa praised?

Ahhh Nyani mbona unachanganya maneno bwana/ Mimi nilisema Mama kapiga mkwara wa rangi akashinda WV maana kule shingo nyekundu ni wengi na alijua akitumia rangi atashinda kura nyingi.

Strategy ya Mama haikuwa kushinda delegates, ila kupata popular votes.

Sasa uliponirushia ile hook iliyo miss kuniweka msamba chini kama Suge, ndipo nikakujibu masuala ya rangi na kumtoa huyo Mama hater!

Nyani naona siku imeshaharibika na Edwards endorsement. Usikatae ni pigo kwa mama na hata campaign yenu imekubali kwa hiyo usiseme it is not a big deal!!!!!!:
The possibility of an Edwards endorsement has been the subject of intense speculation for months; only former vice president Al Gore's endorsement was more coveted by Obama and Clinton. Edwards and his wife had publicly praised Clinton's healthcare plan, but Edwards' anti-corporate message seemed a better fit for Obama's outsider campaign.

Campaign Chairman Terry McAuliffe responded to the endorsement this evening both during a quick press availability outside of the Senator's residence, and in a paper statement.

“We respect John Edwards," McAuliffe said, "but as the voters of West Virginia showed last night, this thing is far from over.”

A source close to the Clinton campaign said the Edwards camp gave the Clinton folks a heads up.

"Clearly it's upsetting," the source tells ABC. "He brings the workers" to Obama.

"Well I don't think it's good news, but there's a lot of news in this business and we move forward and move past it. It's not great news," a Clinton senior advisor said.

Asked what effect the Edwards endorsement might have, he said: "We don't know. We'll see. We'll see how much of it is transferable," referring to Edwards' popularity with white working class voters.

"We would've preferred it," to be our endorsement the advisor said. That's not a secret.

Lakini kumbukeni the slice n dice ya miaka ya nyuma will not work this time. Rovian tactics are not working na ndiyo maana wamechanganyikiwa.
Haya story hii hapa:
The Republican defeat in a special Congressional contest in Mississippi sent waves of apprehension across an already troubled party Wednesday, with some senior Republicans urging Congressional candidates to distance themselves from President Bush to head off what could be heavy losses in the fall. The victory by Travis Childers, a conservative Democrat elected in a once-steadfast Republican district on Tuesday, was the third defeat of a Republican in a special Congressional race this year. In addition to foreshadowing more losses for the party in November, the outcome appeared to call into question the belief that Senator Barack Obama of Illinois could be a heavy liability for his party’s down-ticket candidates in conservative regions.

Republicans had sought to link Mr. Childers to Mr. Obama in an advertising campaign there. Republican leaders said they were looking to Senator John McCain of Arizona, the likely Republican nominee, as a model whose independent reputation appears to allow him to rise above party in a year when the Republican label seems tarnished.

But Mr. McCain’s advisers said the Mississippi race underlined his intention to distance himself as much as possible from Congressional Republicans. Mr. McCain has already been openly critical of some of President Bush’s strategies.

The level of distress was evident in remarks by senior party officials throughout the day.

“This was a real wake-up call for us,” Robert M. Duncan, the chairman of the Republican National Committee, said in an interview. “We can’t let the Democrats take our issues. We can’t let them pretend to be conservatives and co-opt the middle and win these elections. We have to get the attention of our incumbents and candidates and make sure they understand this.”

Representative Tom Davis, Republican of Virginia and former leader of his party’s Congressional campaign committee, issued a dire warning that the Republican Party had been severely damaged, in no small part because of its identification with President Bush. Mr. Davis said that, unless Republican candidates changed course, they could lose 20 seats in the House and 6 in the Senate.

“They are canaries in the coal mine, warning of far greater losses in the fall, if steps are not taken to remedy the current climate,” Mr. Davis said in a memorandum. “The political atmosphere facing House Republicans this November is the worst since Watergate and is far more toxic than it was in 2006.”

I rest my case!

In less than 24 hours naona ni malumbano, kebehi etc. Au nimekosea ndugu yangu? Maana naona leo umeanza mshari sana! Punguza jazba! Usije ukawa umekosa hoja.....

We umekosa jibu! Unataka kusema nimekebehi wenzangu?! Basi waje wao waseme hivyo. Pilipili za shambani za kuwashia nini? Umekosa hoja unaleta vioja.
Kama vipi we endelea kupost vitu vyako na mi nitaendelea lakini usije ukajifanya indignant in the name of others!
Pundit na YNIM are my comrades na hatuna bifu, wewe ndo unatafuta ugomvi hapa, nimekwambia siku umeanza vibaya. Lakini nakuacha ukapoe kwanza.
FYI, YNIM ni Obama nation mwenzangu just like Koba na GT, so sijaelewa hizi hasira za nini, maana my remarks were for both sides.
Have a nice day!

Endeleeni kuspin kuwa hizi endorsement sio big deal....!!

WASHINGTON - Barack Obama collected the support of four of John Edwards' Democratic National Convention delegates on Thursday, then gained the backing of four superdelegates and a large labor union as he marched steadily toward the party's presidential nomination.

The fresh support brought Obama's overall delegate total to 1,895, compared to 1,718 for his rival, Hillary Rodham Clinton. It takes 2,026 to clinch the nomination at the party convention in Denver this summer.

Hata kwao hawamtaki hata pale alipokuwa kwenye ticket.

Ebwana huyu HRC nuksi kweli yaani hiyo race card anaitumia kishenzi, umeshamsikia hata siku moja Obama akisema kuwa HRC hawezi kuvuta kura za Blacks?

This story looks bad because it looks like now it is officially Obama VS Bush, McCain is just a puppet and has to play second fiddle.
Bush said the following in Israel:
President Bush has said repeatedly that he would not insert himself into the presidential race, but that stance changed dramatically today during his trip to Israel. After likening Iran's President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad to Osama bin Laden, Bush compared Barack Obama to Nazi appeasers:

"Some seem to believe we should negotiate with terrorists and radicals, as if some ingenious argument will persuade them they have been wrong all along," said Bush, in what White House aides privately acknowledged was a reference to calls by Obama and other Democrats for the U.S. president to sit down for talks with leaders like Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad.

"We have heard this foolish delusion before," Bush said in remarks to the Israeli Knesset. "As Nazi tanks crossed into Poland in 1939, an American Senator declared: 'Lord, if only I could have talked to Hitler, all of this might have been avoided.' We have an obligation to call this what it is -- the false comfort of appeasement, which has been repeatedly discredited by history."

Mccain alipoulizwa ajibu amesema:
"Yes, there have been appeasers in the past, and the president is exactly right, and one of them is Neville Chamberlain,'' Mr. McCain told reporters on his campaign bus after a speech in Columbus, Ohio. "I believe that it's not an accident that our hostages came home from Iran when President Reagan was president of the United States. He didn't sit down in a negotiation with the religious extremists in Iran, he made it very clear that those hostages were coming home.''

Asked if he thought that former President Jimmy Carter, who struggled with the hostage crisis, was an appeaser, Mr. McCain replied: "I don't know if he was an appeaser or not, but he terribly mishandled the Iranian hostage crisis.''

Poof! So much for Mr nice Guy!
Sasa cheki reaction ya Democrats! They have come out all united behind Barack Obama, just like HIllary has the ability to unite the GOP behind their candidate, so can Bush unite the Democrats behind their candidate. Hapa naweza kusema strategic mistake has been made by GOP kwa sababu kama nilivyopost leo mapema, ni muhimu kwa McCain kujitenga from Bush, the most unpopular president in the history of the US. Otherwise it will drag him down.
