US Election Coverage 2008

US Election Coverage 2008

Mr. Ngabu. Experience doesn't matter sometimes. Its all about judgement.
Wewe mwache candidate wako mwenye experience (Sen. McCain) acheze status quo. Kwanza anahitajika awe anachukua public speaking classes sasa hivi maana juzi nilimsikiliza na ku fall asleep..

Wanna talk about judgement...well, let's talk about it. I'll start with Trinity church and Jeremiah Wright.......

And talking about public speaking.....All I can say is George Bush......two term president who doesn't speak English very well despite it being his first language......next argument please....

ngabu vipi uko wapi? Democratic au republican?

Macain au Obama ?

mkuu nnaomba unijuvye

Ina maana McCain amekosa line yake mwenyewe kabisa mpaka afanye remix line za Obama hahahahahahha kweli sitoshangaa aki-copy kila policy kutoka kwa Bush.

Oh yeah...he's the remix killa!!! Lol

All it takes is one gaffe to taint a Republican for life. The political establishment never let Dan Quayle live down his fateful misspelling of "potatoe." The New York Times distorted and misreported the first President Bush's questions about new scanner technology at a grocers' convention to brand him permanently as out of touch.

But what about Barack Obama? The guy's a perpetual gaffe machine. Let us count the ways, large and small, that his tongue has betrayed him throughout the campaign:

-- Last May, he claimed that tornadoes in Kansas killed a whopping 10,000 people: "In case you missed it, this week, there was a tragedy in Kansas. Ten thousand people died -- an entire town destroyed." The actual death toll: 12.

-- Earlier this month in Oregon, he redrew the map of the United States: "Over the last 15 months, we've traveled to every corner of the United States. I've now been in 57 states? I think one left to go."

-- Last week, in front of a roaring Sioux Falls, S.D., audience, Obama exulted: "Thank you, Sioux City. ... I said it wrong. I've been in Iowa for too long. I'm sorry."

-- Explaining last week why he was trailing Hillary Clinton in Kentucky, Obama again botched basic geography: "Sen. Clinton, I think, is much better known, coming from a nearby state of Arkansas. So it's not surprising that she would have an advantage in some of those states in the middle." On what map is Arkansas closer to Kentucky than Illinois?
-- Obama has as much trouble with numbers as he has with maps. Last March, on the anniversary of the Bloody Sunday march in Selma, Ala., he claimed his parents united as a direct result of the civil rights movement:

"There was something stirring across the country because of what happened in Selma, Ala., because some folks are willing to march across a bridge. So they got together and Barack Obama Jr. was born."

Obama was born in 1961. The Selma march took place in 1965. His spokesman, Bill Burton, later explained that Obama was "speaking metaphorically about the civil rights movement as a whole."

-- Earlier this month in Cape Girardeau, Mo., Obama showed off his knowledge of the war in Afghanistan by homing in on a lack of translators: "We only have a certain number of them, and if they are all in Iraq, then it's harder for us to use them in Afghanistan." The real reason it's "harder for us to use them" in Afghanistan: Iraqis speak Arabic or Kurdish. The Afghanis speak Pashto, Farsi or other non-Arabic languages

Niendelee.........????????????

The only gaffes of Obama you have NN ni za kitoto, sasa naomba nikuonyeshe McBush aka Makopo aka McFlipflopper anavyochemka in ONE DAY na anavyojiumbua (nikiweka hapa gaffes zake zote itabidi hii thread ifungwe kutokana na kupata post ndefu ya ukurasa 10)
So just in one day on 2nd of June 2008, McCain made a series of gaffes.

Naomba nianze na hurricane Katrina -FLIP FLOP NO. 1
A series of misstatements and verbal gaffes hampered Sen. John McCain on the day that unofficially marked the beginning of his general election campaign against Barack Obama.

Appearing at a press conference in Louisiana on Wednesday, McCain claimed that he had supported "every investigation" into the flawed response to Hurricane Katrina, when, in fact, he had twice voted against creating a commission to inspect the tragedy.

The remark immediately bounced around political circles and websites. After all it was just a few months ago when McCain defended those very votes on the back of his campaign bus, casting them as part of a broader campaign against wasteful spending.

"I'm proud of my support of American citizens regarding the taxpayers," the Senator said in April. "I will not vote for projects and programs and bills that are laden with pork-barrel projects that waste taxpayers' dollars."

Obama Nation as always are on top of the issues:
The entire episode elicited a scathing rebuttal from the Obama camp.

"Whether he simply wasn't aware of his voting record again or he was intentionally misleading the people of Louisiana, John McCain certainly isn't offering us 'leadership you can believe in,'" wrote aide Hari Sevugan. To which, McCain's aides accused Obama of negative campaigning, saying the Senator wasn't familiar with the specific votes and had always supported Senate investigations, just not commissions.

FLIP FLOP 2 (OR SENILITY?) vis-a-vis Iran and sanctions
That trip-up, however, was mild in compared to the gaffe that happened earlier in the day, when McCain acknowledged he was not aware that Obama had introduced a bill that called for international divestment from Iran.

Reporter: Are you familiar with his disinvestment bill?
McCain: No, I am not familiar with it at all. I do not know if it passed the senate or had any hearing or anything else. I had, so, literally thousands and thousands pieces of legislation are proposed every year. I know what he did. He voted against the Iranian revolutionary guard being declared a terrorist organization.

The admission could prove damaging for a variety of reasons. For starters, Obama's bill, which passed overwhelmingly in the House of Representatives, is currently being held up in the Senate by Republican Sen. Richard Shelby. More significantly, two McCain surrogates, Sen. Joseph Lieberman and Rep. Eric Cantor, are co-sponsors of Obama's measure despite, on Wednesday, ripping the Illinois Democrat for not having the experience to deal with Iran.

IN GENERAL THIS IS WHAT MCCAIN IS FACING WHEN IT COMES TO GAFFE - Straight talk Express lost its wheels!!
But a more worrisome issue for the McCain campaign may just be that a theme is emerging, both within the media and political circles, that the Arizona Republican has a penchant for playing lose with the facts. Indeed, last week, McCain lost crucial news cycles after he falsely claimed that force levels in Iraq had been drawn down to pre-surge levels and then, instead of admitting he misspoke, said the whole thing was a debate over verb tense. This, in turn, came after the Senator claimed, again falsely, that Iran was training al-Qaeda in Iraq, when in fact the two groups are religious and political adversaries.

All told, the gaffes have provided Obama an opportunity to re-frame a man who is best known as a "straight talker," a image battle McCain can ill afford to lose.

Naomba hizo gaffes zake za kumix up Sunni na Shia four times mpaka Lieberman ilibidi amshtue mzee mzima hadharani huku Makopo akijifanya ni expert on Iraq, niziweke pembeni kwa sasa maana just these facts will take you time to chew through....

My, my!You say trinity curch and Jeremiah wright, I say Pastor Hagee and pastor Parsley. and don't bring the argument that he didn't sit in the pews for 20 years because McCain actively sought for ONE YEAR the endorsement of Hagee and Parsley!! And McCain did say Parsley was his spiritual guide! Kumbe alikuwa anatafuta kura. That actually makes him worse because hakufanya research, it was not an emotional decisin like for Obama that Jeremiah Wright led him to Jesus but a hard cold calculated move that seems was WRONG judgement based on wrong information! So again BAD JUDGEMENT!

Bringing George Bush, two terms and his 4th grade level ability (inability) to speak, read and write English is very bad for YOU and GOP because for your information in 2000 Bush stole the election with the help of Daddy's cronies (James baker et al) and in 2004 with the help of his posse led by Rove and Cheney, scared the Americans to death! Hivi zile anthrax cases mbona zilikufa kiaina!? Hawa akina Bush lazima watakuwa tried for war crimes!!!

Huyu babu yako hata hatujaanza kumchambua, ngoja tuunganishe nguvu. Nyie GOP in Hillary supporters guise (akina Dittoheads) mkishajulikana and we bid you good bye, basi kazi inaanza.... This year is the Democrats' year!

Elezea tafadhali....

NN, hivi kweli unafikiri hiyo election ilikuwa kuhusu issues na debate/ Walitumia mchezo mchafu wa wedge issues, wakampaka Kerry ni Flipflopper, walikuwa wanaraise threat level kila siku na kusema bila Bush Marekani itapigwa bomu, mara tukasikia kimeta, mara eti materrorist wameonekana hapa na pale, mara swift boaters, etc.
Lakini tofauti ni kwamba Bush and his posse in GOP forgot that; You can fool some people some time but you can't fool all the people all the time. sasa ukweliumeanza kujuliakna and that's why Bush's approval rating in 28%. And as hard as they try to bring wedge issues eti Church of Obama, is he patriotic enough, blahblah, watu wanaendelea kumsupport. Na hii imewachanganya kwani hawajatambua Americans ar not going to be taken for another ride - no more Bush lite years, and definitely NOT THIS TIME.

Just kukuonyesha jinsi GOP inavyoshindwa kuendeleza uongo wake read this:
More than five years after the initial invasion of Iraq, the Senate Intelligence Committee has finally gone on the record: the Bush administration misused, and in some cases disregarded, intelligence which led the nation into war. The two final sections of a long-delayed and much anticipated "Phase II" report on the Bush administration's use of prewar intelligence, released on Thursday morning, accuse senior White House officials of repeatedly misrepresenting the threat posed by Iraq.

In addition, the report on Iraq war intelligence harshly criticizes a Pentagon office for executing "inappropriate, sensitive intelligence activities" without the proper knowledge of the State Department and other agencies.

In addition to judgments that could prove troublesome for the White House and make waves in the presidential race, the report also contains some stinging minority reports from Republican committee members who allege that Democrats turned the intelligence review process into a "partisan exercise."

However, when the GOP controlled the intelligence committee and steered its "Phase I" reporting on the use of Iraq war intelligence, critics complained that tough questions about the Bush administration's actions had been kicked down the road, and thus required a second round of fact finding -- dubbed "Phase II." The committee's delay in producing that full report to the public was seen by Democrats as evidence of a stonewalling campaign executed by President Bush's Republican Senate allies.

Former Committee Chairman Sen. Pat Roberts (R-KS) often vacillated over whether or not the report was worth completing, first promising in 2004 that the work would be finished, and then calling it a "monumental waste of time" later in 2005. When Democrats gained control of the Senate after the 2006 midterm elections, they gained a majority of seats on the committee and set the course for the production of the final reports. Whether by partisan design or simple chance, however, the committee managed to save some of the best questions for last.

The "Phase II" report states -- in terms clearer than any previous government publication -- that there was no operational relationship between Al Qaeda and Saddam Hussein, that Bush officials were not truthful about the difficulties the United States would face in post-war Iraq and that their public statements did not reflect intelligence they had at the time, and, specifically, that the intelligence community would not confirm any meeting between Iraqi officials and Mohamed Atta -- a claim that was nevertheless publicly repeated.

"Before taking the country to war, this Administration owed it to the American people to give them a 100 percent accurate picture of the threat we faced. Unfortunately, our Committee has concluded that the Administration made significant claims that were not supported by the intelligence," Rockefeller said in a statement provided to The Huffington Post.

"In making the case for war, the Administration repeatedly presented intelligence as fact when in reality it was unsubstantiated, contradicted, or even non-existent. As a result, the American people were led to believe that the threat from Iraq was much greater than actually existed. ... There is no question we all relied on flawed intelligence. But, there is a fundamental difference between relying on incorrect intelligence and deliberately painting a picture to the American people that you know is not fully accurate."

......Still, the breadth of the Committee's citations of examples in which the Bush administration's comments were not supported by intelligence could reignite public dissatisfaction over the war. According to a release from Rockefeller's office that was provided to The Huffington Post, these examples include:

-- Statements and implications by the President and Secretary of State suggesting that Iraq and al-Qa'ida had a partnership, or that Iraq had provided al-Qa'ida with weapons training, were not substantiated by the intelligence.
-- Statements by the President and the Vice President indicating that Saddam Hussein was prepared to give weapons of mass destruction to terrorist groups for attacks against the United States were contradicted by available intelligence information.

-- Statements by President Bush and Vice President Cheney regarding the postwar situation in Iraq, in terms of the political, security, and economic, did not reflect the concerns and uncertainties expressed in the intelligence products.

-- Statements by the President and Vice President prior to the October 2002 National Intelligence Estimate regarding Iraq's chemical weapons production capability and activities did not reflect the intelligence community's uncertainties as to whether such production was ongoing.

-- The Secretary of Defense's statement that the Iraqi government operated underground WMD facilities that were not vulnerable to conventional airstrikes because they were underground and deeply buried was not substantiated by available intelligence information.

-- The Intelligence Community did not confirm that Muhammad Atta met an Iraqi intelligence officer in Prague in 2001 as the Vice President repeatedly claimed.

I'm sorry, but you are in your element (talking sideways) today.....

Wakuu,

Who cares kuhusu maksi? (BTW Kichaka mwenyewe alisema wakati wa graduation ya Yale Ás for D students , I want to tell them, there's still hope, I was a D student" so hakuna aliyemzushia Bush, it'a fact that he was BELOW average student. )
Kuhusu Dan Rather, sorry yeye si Democrat just an anchor.
Mifano hii are actually paling in comparison to what I listed including taking America to war by misleading the people (ie lies!).
Lakini mi ningekushauri ukapumzike leo maana it has been an emotional day for Dittoheads. Labda leo niko in my element maana bado party inaendelea hapa tukisherekea ushindi wa Obama! kwikwikwi.
Time to spoil oneself at the spa?! Nitakutumia coupon moja if you are in for it! Hahahaha!
