Nilikuwa natembelea tovuti ya ABC News (http://abcnews.go.com/Politics/DemocraticDebate/comments?type=story&id=4666956). Haki ya mama people are so angry...hebu fikiria hizi ni chache tu kati ya postings 15000+ tangia jana. All of them condeming the moderators kwa kuwa bias na kum favor Sen. Clinton. I think the Obama Nation is sending a strong message to the pundits. I can't wait to watch Saturday Night Live..au John Stewart leo usiku.

So this is what America has finally boiled down to. People took more interest in "survivor" or "american idol" than they have in the politics, or namely, what runs their country and how. I visit chat boards and most talks are on these subjects, now we have a debate up for important issues to be laid on the table, and what do they deliver to the public? More american idol and a nets game. Unfortunately people, don't blame the news media any longer, look inside yourselves and make point to visit some of the political chat boards on the web, you may find more bickering about how people type than anything of importance. I think the people of this country have drank too much kool aid from both sides.

This debate was appalling, and the moderators should be fired. Who orchestrated this fiasco - Hillary or McCain? I will never again watch anything from ABC that is remotely connected with news or politics because they are so biased. This was probably the last time that we could see a debate between the two candidates about issues, and instead it was three on one beating up on Obama for trivial tabloid clips. At least Keith Olbermann on MSNBC had a great review of the debate and reviewed it accurately. Thanks for the advice about contacting the advertisers. I plan to do that. Is there any chance that the network will issue an apology?

What happened to the real issues ? I might as well watch MTV or youtube to get more useful information than in first hour of last night's debate , I think there are more important issues than lapel pin and Bosnia snipers.ABC should have been more responsible that , hight school kids would have prepared better questionnaire which would talk about real issues like : Economy , Gas Prices , War in Iraq and Afghanistan , Job losses , New Orleans.--wathchamacalit

Questions regarding Sen. Obama's associations to Rev. Wright and Mr. Airs (sp?) were irritating because they are not relevant to the issues people care about. A more significant relationship is the Clinton relationship with Mark Penn, here former chief strategist. While he no longer holds that title, he is still advising her. While most consultants take leave from their jobs when advising a campaign like hers, he has not. Worse, he is an advocate for expanding free trade w/his client, Columbia. Why didn't ABC ask about this relationship? Free trade is an important issue to those in Pennsylvania and elsewhere. Seems to me that that Penn relationship is important given people's concerns over free trade agreements and how it affects them.

I DO BELIEVE OF ALL THE DEBATES I SEEN THUS FAR, THIS HAS BEEN THE WORSE YET. IT WASN'T THE CANDIDATES THAT DISAPPOINTED ME BUT CHARLIE GIBSON AND GEORGE S. I ALWAYS CONSIDER MR. GIBSON TO BE A NEWS COMMENTOR WHO STUCK TO FACTS AND NOT WHAT HE THOUGHT THE CONSERVATIVES, THE RIGHT WINGERS, ETC., NEEDED TO HEAR. IN THE REAL WORLD PEOPLE ARE TIRED AND I MEAN TIRED OF THE SAME OLD SAME OLD. MEDIA PROPAGANDER WHEN IT COME TO POLITICS. MR. GIBSON AND GEORGE S. FAILED TO RISE ABOVE AND GO BEYOND, BUT CHOSE TO PLAY THE POLTICAL GAME. WHY IS EVERYONE AFRAID OF CHANGE!!!!!!!!!!!!

ABC has finally sunk to the level of Fox News and other Murdoch outlets. This is a sad day for American media. Disney's Republican bias is well-known. Undoubtedly there were instructions from way up the corporate hierarchy to run the so called "debate" to discredit primarily Obama (who would have better chances against McCain than Clinton) while also making Clinton look bad to aid the Republicans in the presidential race. George Stefanopulos (who of course worked for the Clintons for many years) and Sen Clinton were tag-teaming in very obvious ways to denigrate Sen Obama. I am amazed they didn't realize that they were just being set up by ABC (Disney) to aid McCain. Not only is Sen. Clinton running a uniquely dirty campaign against her opponent. The fact that she unwittingly plaid ball in ABC's Republican game also casts doubt on her intelligence and common sense, or at least her ability to be rational in the face of powerful emotions. Her ambition and resentment and envy/resentment obviously got the better of her and clouded her reason. Two highpoints that deserve particular ridicule: the attempt to suggest that Obama has "communist" ties and sympathizes with the Weather Underground (not many young people will have a clue what that is), and Bob's pitiful attempt to pass himself of as an economic expert, trying to revive Voodoo Economics with his ludicrous argument about capital gains taxes. The fact that tax revenues increased during a time that capital gains taxes were cut was obviously due to the fact that these were also times of rapid economic expansion. Only a complete moron could miss this point. The fact that he is still stuck in the Reagonomic "reasoning" goes to show the extreme bias for Republican ideology on his part and reveals his utter lack of economic understanding. I have never seen anything so inept and unprofessional as this Republican circus masquerading as a "debate".

I've been watching presidential debates since the first Kennedy/Nixon debate. I've never seen a worse performance by a debate moderator. Charles Gibson and George Stephanopoulos were an embarrassment to their profession. Voters are concerned about war, heathcare, gas prices and recessions, not one-sided "gotcha" questions. This debate showed how out of touch ABC News is.

Ya know what ticked me off about that flippin debate? I DO NOT GIVE A TINKER'S DAMN about what Obama's preacher said, or whether his neighbor was a member of the Weather Underground or why he doesn't wear a flag pin in his lapel, or whether Hillary "misspoke" about landing in Bosnia or what kind of suits she wears or what Chelsea said about Monica, or any of the rest of that happy ####. I sat through 90 minutes of a "debate" yesterday and probably less than 15 of them were devoted to real issues. WHAT ABOUT THE WAR IN IRAQ? WHAT ABOUT AFGHANISTAN? WHAT ABOUT MY JOB? WHAT ABOUT THE HORRIBLE DEFICIT THAT MY GREAT-GRANDCHILDREN WILL BE STRUGGLING TO PAY OFF? WHAT ABOUT THE MORTGAGE CRISIS? WHAT ABOUT THE FACT THAT AMERICA ROUTINELY HAS <50% OF KIDS IN SOME AREAS WHO DROP OUT BEFORE FINISHING HIGH SCHOOL? WHAT ABOUT THE FACT THAT HALF OF THOSE WHO *DO* GRADUATE STILL CANNOT READ, WRITE OR THINK CLEARLY? WHAT ABOUT ACCOUNTABILITY IN GOVERNMENT? WHAT ABOUT THE FACT THAT 15% OF US HAVE NO HEALTHCARE COVERAGE, AND MOST OF THE 85% WHO HAVE IT ARE PAYING TOO MUCH FOR TOO LITTLE (AND IT'S GOING UP!!)?WHAT ABOUT AMERICA'S SAD STANDING IN THE INTERNATIONAL COMMUNITY? WHAT ABOUT OUR ENVIRONMENT? Before last night I liked and respected the professional character of Charlie Gibson and George Stephanopoulos. Now I've concluded that they're just as as flaky as the rest of the info-tainment idiots who flash pearly grins and blow smoke up our tushes to keep attention away from the real issues. Gimme a break, people. We are facing REAL issues that will bury us if we do not attend to them. Why don't we have a dialog about that, huh? Or are we just too bitter (am I allowed to use that word without being branded as elitist?)? Oh, wait ... we're in the final countdown for Idol ... I'll get back to you after we see who wins. I'm a REAL American and I know how to focus on what's truly important.

The fact that one of the moderators in this debate was a senior political adviser to the 1992 U.S. presidential campaign of Bill Clinton and later became Clinton's communications director is beyond reproach and ABC should be taken to task for allowing such a thing to occur.

For years, I have elected to have Charles G as my national news source but not any more! I expected a great deal more from ABC. Clearly, you were totally focused on how high you could get your ratings and entirely uninterested in having the candidates debate issues of importance to all Americans. I was sorely disappointed and will join many others iin switching my channel to la ess bias news organization.Robbie269

I love these posters who say Obama was asked tough questions he should have been asked a long time ago. Exactly which of those questions about Rev Wright or lapel pins did he not already address - a dozen times? As Barak pointed out, some politicos and media reps just latch onto a parsed phrase and beat it to death. They are like my rat terriers who just grab something and shake it and shake it until the life is shaken right out of it. That's what happened to this debate. The two ratters George and Charlie just shook the devil out of dead issues. Although Barak came through it with grace, the viewers are the ones who felt beat up and shaken. Brilliant guys.

Last night I was out getting a slice of pizza. The guy running the joint had a sign on his counter saying "three weeks ago a 50 lb. bag of flour as $12, it is now $40, so this is why your pizza slice now costs $2.50 instead of $2. Sorry."I'm reading about food riots in foreign countries. So now FOOD is going to to through the roof at the same time as GAS.And what does ABC ask? "Does Reverend Wright Love America?" "What about Tuzla?" I mean, regardless of who you support in this election, SHAME ON ABC for WASTING OUR TIME when we should be talking about real issues.ABC=Nero filddling while Rome burns!!!!!I don't own a TV (watched the debate this morning on YouTube) and now I see I'm not missing much! EVERYONE NEEDS TO RELAX AND REALIZE THAT EVERYONE HAS A RIGHT TO QUESTION THE CANDIDATES--FAIR OR NOT. IT IS IMPORTANT TO SEE BOTH CANDIDATES REACTION TO THESE QUESTIONS. THIS IS THE NEXT LEADER OF THE FREEWORLD. WE ALL WANT WHAT IS BEST FOR US AND THIS GREAT COUNTRY. WE NEED AN EXPERIENCED LEADER AND THIS IS A GREAT WAY TO SEE HOW EACH CANDIDATE REACTS IN THE HOT SEAT. KEEP YOUR EYES OPEN AND LISTEN CLOSELY... BS CAN ONLY TAKE SO FAR. WE NEED STRAIGHT DIRECT ANSWERS AND NO. WE WONT JUST GO AWAY. THESE ARE NOT PERSONAL ATTACKS, THESE ARE GENUINE CONCERNS, AND THEY SHOULD BE ADDRESSED REGARDLESS OF HOW TOUCHY THE SUBJECT.

What a pathetic "debate"- I am a citizen of PA, and nothing of relevance or interest to me was asked of the candidates until nearly an HOUR into the program. Jeremiah Wright? Flag pins? 1960s radicals? How about veterans' services, health care for the elderly, making college more affordable? George S. in particular should be ashamed of himself - was he trying to secure a job in Hillary's White House by using Sean Hannity "gotcha" questions? Pathetic - simply pathetic.

Mimi nadhani maswali yalikuwa relevant.

Uko sahihi hapo kwenye bolded sentence... Obama akiwa Rais na idea zake za Karl Marx US lazima ipinduke kichalichali!
Imagine "Bush alike" atokee kugombea urais China!

Religion is the Opium of the "frustrated" people!

If it is sarcasm as I believe it is naomba kwanza usome kidogo Karl Marx kisha usome policies anazopropose Obama ndipo ufanye comparison. Obama is not a Marxist and US itapata mabadiliko makubwa na Obama presidency kwa sababu mtazamo wake ni tofauti katika managing not ruling as dynasties Bush and Clinton.
BTW to be fair ... Bill Clinton was a good president despite personal shortcomings, but Hillary is NO Bill Clinton. Alichokisema Obama kuhusu people turning bitter and turning to religion and guns was also said in a different manner by Bill Clinton in 1995 in a retreat and that is why tulimsupport sana, despite Monica Lewinsky! BTW what Obama said was better than what Hillary said about the working class in 1995 at the same retreat, she said "Screw 'em!"

Ongoing nomination fight hurting Clinton more than Obama
By CHARLES BABINGTON and TREVOR TOMPSON, Associated Press Writers
WASHINGTON (AP) — In a dramatic reversal, an Associated Press-Yahoo! News poll found that a clear majority of Democratic voters now say Sen. Barack Obama has a better chance of defeating Republican Sen. John McCain in November than Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton.

While Obama and Clinton are both sustaining dents and dings from their lengthy presidential fight, the former first lady is clearly suffering more. Democratic voters no longer see her as the party's strongest contender for the White House.

Voters of all types have gotten a better sense of Obama, who was an obscure Illinois legislator just four years ago. As more people moved from the "I don't know him" category in the AP-Yahoo! News poll, more rated Obama as inexperienced, unethical and dishonest. And 15 percent erroneously think he's a Muslim, thanks in part to disinformation widely spread on the Internet.

But Obama's positive ratings have climbed as well, while Clinton — widely known since the early 1990s — has been less able to change people's views of her. And when those views have shifted, it has hurt her more than helped.

The New York senator's ratings for being honest, likable, ethical and refreshing have fallen since January, and Obama scores higher than she does in all those categories.

In late January, before Obama scored 11 straight primary and caucus victories, 56 percent of Democrats saw Clinton as the stronger nominee, compared to 33 percent for Obama. Now, Obama leads on that question, 56 to 43 percent.

Still, the poll, conducted by Knowledge Networks, contains some worrisome signs for the first-term senator. Those rating him as "not at all honest," for example, jumped from 18 percent last fall to 27 percent in April. It came as he was put on the defensive over incendiary comments by his former pastor. But many holding such views are Republicans or conservative independents, who would be unlikely to vote in a Democratic primary or support a Democrat in the fall, anyway.

The most encouraging sign for Obama is that many Democrats who previously saw Clinton as their party's best hope now give him that role. About one-third of them still prefer Clinton, but they have lost confidence in her electability.

"I would love to vote for Hillary," said Nancy Costello of Bellevue, Ky., one of the more than 1,800 randomly selected adults whose opinions are rechecked every few months. "I'm 67, and I'll probably never get another chance to vote for a woman."

But Obama now appears to be the stronger candidate, she said, and electing a Democrat in November is paramount. If McCain wins and continues many of President Bush's economic and foreign policies, Costello said, "I think I would just sit down and cry."

By tracking the same group throughout the campaign, the AP-Yahoo! News poll can gauge how individual views change. It suggests that Clinton has paid a price for hammering Obama since early February on several issues as she tries to overcome his lead in delegates and the popular vote. Among those Democrats who no longer consider her the more electable of the two, most now see her as less likable, decisive, strong, honest, experienced and ethical than they did in January.

Meanwhile, those same voters are more likely to see Obama as strong, honest and refreshing than before.

Beulah Barton of Leesburg, Fla., said she initially backed Clinton, partly because she liked Bill Clinton's record as president.

"But the more I hear her talk, and the more I hear him talk, the more put off I am," said Barton, 69. "I think she's brash, I think she's rude. I get the feeling that she feels she deserves to be president" and doesn't need "to earn it."

Barton said she likes Obama, and ignores e-mails suggesting that he refuses to salute the flag or is somehow threatening "because of his name."

"People try to make him look like a traitor," she said. "I think he has risen above most of that stuff."

Some misinformation sticks, however. The great majority of the poll's participants said this month they did not know the religious affiliation of Clinton (a Methodist) or Obama (United Church of Christ). But 15 percent ventured that Obama, whose father was Kenyan, is a Muslim.

That group includes more Democrats than Republicans, and it doesn't necessarily worry them.

Randi Estes, a Democrat from Ada, Okla., said she prefers Clinton but feels Obama is likely to win the nomination. "He's gotten very strong media coverage, and Bill Clinton's not helping her a bit," said Estes, 36, who has four children under the age of 6.

Speaking of Obama, she said, "I have a sense he's a Muslim."

If Obama wins the nomination, the poll indicates he will need to mend his image a bit as he battles McCain for independents and soft Republicans. His favorability rating among all voters has declined, with those ranking him as "very unfavorable" growing from 17 percent in January to 25 percent in April. Most of them are Republicans and independents.

In January, 30 percent of Republicans rated Obama very unfavorably. That grew to 43 percent in April. Among the coveted independents, 12 percent had a very unfavorable view of Obama in January. That has nearly doubled to 23 percent.

Obama would be the first black president, and the survey detected some evidence of racial discomfort in voters' minds. It found that about 8 percent of whites would be uncomfortable voting for a black for president. It produced an estimate of about 13 percent of Republicans who would feel that way, but suggested very few if any Democrats would now be uncomfortable. In November, about 5 percent of Democrats indicated discomfort at voting for a black person for president.

For Allen Lovell, a moderate Democrat in Everett, Wash., race is unimportant, but replacing Bush with a Democrat is vital. And lately he has concluded that Obama probably has the better chance of beating McCain.

"I am leaning towards him, not because he's black — because I'm white — but because we definitely need a change," said Lovell, 50.

He said the Democratic campaign has lasted too long, but there is one topic he'd like to hear more about. Lovell, who guessed that Obama is "either Christian or Muslim," said: "I don't think we're getting enough information on religion" from the candidates.

The survey of 1,844 adults was conducted April 2-14 and had an overall margin of sampling error of plus or minus 2.3 percentage points. Included were interviews with 863 Democrats, for whom the margin of sampling error was plus or minus 3.3 points, and 668 Republicans, with a margin of sampling error of plus or minus 3.8 points.

The poll was conducted over the Internet by Knowledge Networks. It initially contacted people using traditional telephone polling methods, and followed with online interviews. People chosen for the study who had no Internet access were given it for free.

I hope Obama doesn't put a foot on his mouth again. This nomination is his to lose.

I hope Obama doesn't put a foot on his mouth again. This nomination is his to lose.

Sasa hivi ni wazi uteuzi ataupata but that will be it. Senator McCain is one formidable candidate and I won't be surprised if he wins 40 plus states.

The US economy is falling rapidly so I say let Obama win. He will be the president over one of the worst economic periods in American history. Even though the president himself has very little effect on the economy, Obama will be blamed. There would be a backlash like you wouldn't believe against Obama. He is in waaaaay over his head...LOL. Let's get some popcorn and enjoy the show...hahaha!

I'm curious to know what the reaction from around the world will be if Obama becomes president. Africans will jump up in joy, that's a given but what about the rest of the world? Will he be cheered by the crowds when he travels overseas especially Europe? Or will he be taunted in the same manner black soccer players are taunted by the crowds? I seriously do not believe Obama fully understands what he is in for. He is in waaaay over his head...LOL!
