And WTF is up with "Winter is Coming" ? How blaze is that for a catchphrase? Is there ever a time when winter is not coming?

I think there is a yearning for a medieval/ ancient European story (which is totally fine if done in a comprehensive way, I enjoy period pieces from "Rome" to "King Arthur: Legend of The Sword", more so the former than the later). But the freaking twisted fantasy that seems to be a little more than just a vehicle for gore and nudity escapes the more highbrow elements in me.

Moreover, the more fantasy is in a show, the more childish it is to me.

What makes "Games of Throne" so appealing, other than just following a popular show, can anyone tell me?

Maybe I am missing something.

Or is this totally a case of "beauty is in the eye of the beholder" and an insanely marketing circus featuring nudity, gore, an incomprehensibly multitude of plots and subplots, midgets and "winter is coming" will always remain irresistible to some?
