Sasa Chama na Serikali Tawala imeona kuwa ilikuwa sio Vizuri kuvunja Form Six kujiunga na JKT? au ni Suala Tofauti??? Naomba Msaada...
Implementation of the ruling party`s campaign pledge to recruit youths who complete form six in National Service programmes is expected to commence in the next financial year (2011-12).
Defence and National Service minister Dr. Hussein Mwinyi made the revelation yesterday in an interview with our sister newpaper, Nipashe.
Speaking shortly after he had graced an opening of the ministry workers' council meeting, the minister said preparations had started for implementation of the plan, which would see form six students joining National Service immediately after completing their studies.
The ministry, he said, was now waiting for the disbursement of funds so that implementation of the plan could start as spelt out in the ruling party's election manifesto.
The long-term project, according to the minister, required money for putting up some of the necessary facilities for youths when they report to National Service camps.
He mentioned some of basic things for the programme as enhancing access to working tools, improving infrastructure and training programmes, including entrepreneurship programmes for youths expected to join National Service.
Meanwhile, the minister asked the workers' council to shun favouritism and promote unity and togetherness in spearheading development and enhancing quality service delivery to the public.
"Unity is an important ingredient in the workplace. It's an important pillar for improving efficiency and productivity in the workplace. The council must stand out a leader directing workers to the right path - uniting them and encouraging them to be committed, devoted and determined in discharging public duties and responsibilities," he said.
For his part, the council chairman, Andrew Nyumayo, said they met in order to digest best practices and ways to build, strengthen, develop and maintain gains already registered by the ministry
