[h=1]Injury update on Schweinsteiger, Carrick and Rooney[/h] Bastian Schweinsteiger could be a doubt for Manchester United's next match at Everton after suffering a thigh injury during the warm-up for Germany's 1-0 defeat to Republic of Ireland.
Ahead of the shock result at the Aviva Stadium, the official Twitter account for the German Football Association confirmed the disappointing news for the Reds midfielder by posting: "@BSchweinsteiger picked up an injury during the pre-match warm-up and will miss the game."
Germany's loss to the Republic of Ireland means the world champions still require a point from their final Euro 2016 qualifying match against Georgia to qualify for next summer's tournament.
It is unclear whether Schweinsteiger will be fit enough to play in Leipzig on Sunday and manager Joachim Low says the seriousness of the injury will soon become clear. "For Schweinsteiger I will need to see," he told reporters. "The medical staff said two or three days' rest."
Meanwhile, England manager Roy Hodgson is confident Michael Carrick will be fit for tonight's Euro 2016 qualifier with Estonia at Wembley, despite the United midfielder missing Thursday's training session.
"Michael trained fully in quite an intense training session on Wednesday but he had a re-occurrence of a feeling that he sometimes gets in his groin – a slight tightening of the groin – and we didn't want to take any chances in what was a fairly light session before the match," said Hodgson on Thursday. "So we decided to rest him for the session on the basis that it will help him be fit for tomorrow night."
Wayne Rooney has not trained with England all week and will not face Estonia, although the FA has confirmed the Reds skipper will be presented with a golden boot from Sir Bobby Charlton before kick-off after becoming the Three Lions' all-time leading scorer last month.
However, Hodgson has suggested Rooney is unlikely to travel to Lithuania for England's final qualifier on Monday, so he can prepare for United's forthcoming trip to Everton. "We have been waiting for his ankle injury to settle down," the England manager explained.
"It is settling down very well and we certainly don't want to risk him because he has lots of important Manchester United games ahead. I would be devastated if we pushed him out there and something happened to increase the problem he has with his ankle. So we decided it is better that he doesn't play in this game.
"During the time he was receiving treatment for the ankle injury he has been very keen to stay with us, and very keen to be part of our post-match meetings we had in regards to the Switzerland game. I am sure he is looking forward to Sir Bobby presenting him with his golden boot."

[h=1]Martial wins Goal of the Month award[/h] Anthony Martial's stunning solo goal on his debut against Liverpool has been named Manchester United's Goal of the Month for September.
After coming off the bench midway through the second half at Old Trafford, the French forward took precisely 20 minutes to add his own chapter to the fixture's storied history.
With United leading 2-1 and facing a nervy final five minutes after Christian Benteke's spectacular overhead kick for the visitors, Martial took centre stage in front of the Stretford End to seal the points for his side.
Picking up the ball on the left, the 19-year-old glided past three defenders before opening up his body and placing the ball past Liverpool goalkeeper Simon Mignolet into the far corner, to spark thunderous jubilation inside the Theatre of Dreams.
The strike emerged a clear winner from our eight-strong, high-calibre shortlist this month, garnering 65 per cent of votes from ManUtd.com users. Daley Blind's earlier opener against the Merseysiders came second in the poll with 11 per cent and Chris Smalling's winner against Wolfsburg was third with 10 per cent.
Van Gaal told MUTV after the match: "Anthony scored a marvellous goal. I have seen also that, physically, he can play in the Premier League. And he can dribble."
Blind added: "He's a big talent and we all need to be happy that he's in our team and that he created a goal like this." United's other scorer against Liverpool, Ander Herrera, commented: "Anthony is very quick, he's very mobile and you saw how he kicked the ball in front of the keeper - unbelievable."

[h=1]Blind refuses to consider Dutch failure[/h] Daley Blind admits he is refusing to think about the Netherlands failing to qualify for next summer's European Championship in France.
The Dutch defender was a key part of the team that finished third at the 2014 World Cup under Louis van Gaal's stewardship, but Holland have struggled to replicate that form in Group A of the Euro qualifiers.
Now managed by Blind's father Danny, the Netherlands must beat Kazakhstan and Czech Republic - and hope Turkey drop points against the Czechs and already-qualified Iceland - in order to move above Fatih Terim's side and book an all-important play-off spot.
"It's very important for us to get third in the group," he told MUTV. "Unfortunately, we don't have it in our own hands anymore. Turkey have to lose and we need to win both of games. That's our job.
"We're not giving up at the moment. We have to fight but we have to see what happens. They are two tough games we have to win but it's not only about that.
"If we want to have the chance to get to the Euros, there are no doubts about it - we have to win and Turkey must drop some points.
"It will be a shame if we don't make it but I don't want to think about that now."

Van Gaal has been unimpressed by Rojo's attitude and could bring in Martins Indi Manchester United are prepared to sell Marcos Rojo in the January transfer window and could replace him with Porto defender Bruno Martins Indi.
Rojo's relationship with Louis van Gaal is understood to have broken down over a string of issues and the United manager has identified Dutchman Martins Indi as Rojo's ideal replacement.
Like Rojo, Martins Indi is left-footed and capable of operating at centre-back and left-back - where he recently excelled in Porto's Champions League win over Chelsea.
United have already sent scouts to watch Martins Indi, who made his international debut under Van Gaal and played in six of the Netherlands' seven games at last year's World Cup, this season.
Martins Indi, whose contract expires in 2018, and Van Gaal enjoyed a close relationship at international level and their rapport began auspiciously during their first encounter, when Martins Indi told Van Gaal: "I would really like to become better. I would like to ask you a lot, Mr Van Gaal."

Van Gaal said: "That's a good thing, because I can help you with that."
Martins Indi replied: "Really?" before Van Gaal beamed: "I love you already, Bruno."

Van Gaal embraces Martins Indi after the Netherlands' 5-1 defeat of Spain A £16.5m signing from Sporting Lisbon, Rojo has made just two United appearances this season after falling out with Van Gaal so spectacularly he considered selling the Argentine in the transfer window.
Although Rojo had offers to leave and Monaco enquired about signing him as part of the Anthony Martial deal, Van Gaal decided to retain the 25-year-old to preserve the balance of his squad, having missed out on signing Sergio Ramos from Real Madrid.

Van Gaal was angered by Rojo's failure to link up with the United squad on their pre-season tour due to 'passport issues' and did not consider him for selection until the win over Liverpool on September 12.

Rojo looked rotund on his return to Manchester in July, having played all six of Argentina's Copa America matches, and only regained his place in the United side when Luke Shaw broke his leg at PSV Eindhoven.

He was called up to the Argentina squad for their World Cup qualifiers against Ecuador and Paraguay this month but withdrew.
Despite Shaw's long-term absence, Phil Jones' return to fitness, Daley Blind's form at left-back last season and Ashley Young's adeptness at full-back could deny Rojo a place in the United back four.

Rojo has made just one start this season Van Gaal, who revealed he was 'enchanted' by Rojo while watching videos of him at left-back ahead of the Netherlands' World Cup semi-final with Argentina, used him primarily as a centre-back last season but cast doubt on Rojo's role in the centre of defence.
"Rojo usually plays on the left side for Argentina, so he is more usual there," Van Gaal said ahead of the Southampton game, where Rojo played at left-back.
