Whether we say...that all things happen according to the laws of nature, or are ordered by the decree and direction of God, we say the same thing.".
Katika chapter 3 na 4 anachotaka kutueleza ni kwamba Mungu na "Nature" acha niite asili (nimekosa kiswahili chake) ni
kitu kimoja kwamba
kila amuzi unalofanya na unalopitia sio kwamba umeamua kulifanya eti kisa unalipenda bali ni sababu mazingira(nature) yanakushawish ulifanye!

Binadamu hatuna FREE WILL
Maoni yako mkuu yananiwazisha. Moja ya jambo muhimu ninaloona tunahitaji kuliweka sawa, je tuna mipaka ya ubinadamu? Hapa kuna maswali mengi, tukihusisha free will ya mwanadamu na mazingira. Hivi kama hakuna wanyama waliwao, mimea iliwayo na mwanadamu, au kwa ujumla tujiulize kusingekuwa na dunia inayosupport uhai, maisha yangekuwaje?
Hakika majibu yake ni mepesi sana. Moja ya majibu rahisi ni kuwa, lazima kungekuwa na namna ya kuishi, kama siyo duniani, basi kwingine na ni lazima kungekuwa na supportive mechanisms za kuishi.
Kwa hiyo?
Binadamu = Uhai + Mazingira, labda mie ninaona hivi. Yaani, unapomtazama binadamu hai, tambua anaundwa na components mbili, uhai na mazingira. Na labda tukitazama existance ya mtu kwa namna hii, pengine kwa maoni yangu, ninaweza sasa kusema, binadamu ana free will. Utashi upo kati ya uhai na mazingira. Kuna wakati utashi unahitaji kubadili mazingira ili kumaintain uhai. Nafikiri teknolojia ni mfano mzuri, tunaitumia kuboresha mazingira (kwa upande mmoja) ili kufanya ubinadamu kuwa bora zaidi. Ninafahamu matumizi mabaya ya teknolojia yanaweza kupelekea kupotea kwa uhai na hivyo kupotea kwa mazingira na mwisho kupotea kwa ubinadamu. Utashi wetu huweza kutupelekea mazingira kutuadhibu kutegemea na namna utashi unavyotafsiri mazingira.
Yanaweza kuwepo mazingira ya kucheka na mtu asicheke, kulia naye asilie, kukaa asikae, kuamua yeye asiamue, kutokuamua, yeye akaamua n.k
Tukumbuke, hakuna mazingira bila kuwepo kwa uhai na hakuna uhai bila mazingira. Kukiwepo na uhai na mazingira, ili mambo haya yaende barabara, ili kukamilisha ubinadamu, tunahitaji utashi.
Kwa hiyo, ikiwa tutatazama ubinadamu kwa components hizi tatu, ninaweza kusema kuwa, tuna Free will na hususani ukizingatia kuwa, utashi ambao ni kungo muhimu, hakipatikani kwenye mazingira, kipo zaidi kwenye ubinadamu. Kumbuka wanyama wengine wana uhai lakini hawana utashi, mimea ina uhai lakini haina utashi.
