As a sovereign country, they have a prerogative to choose what they want to do with their data.

Hiyo chanjo haiwezi kutumika nchini mpaka iwe registered kama dawa zingine. Je mamlaka zetu zinasemaje?

Huwezi kusubiri nchi fulani ifanye kazi kwa ajili yako, wewe kama Tanzania una takwimu gani kuhusu wagonjwa, ugonjwa, chanjo n.k.?

Watu wanaopinga chanjo na ambao wamepta chanjo na watoto wao wanapata chanjo za maradhi mengine ndio hao hao hawawezi kutueleza usalama wa nyungu.

Unawezaje kuhoji usalama wa vaccine bila kutueleza usalama wa nyungu? It defies every logical thinking !

The point you want to prove is that they are doing all wrong. But here is the thing. Fortune always favors the braves and those who try. Continue to bash the drug and vaccine makers. But at the end of the day, they will master the science which could help beat Corona-19. Not only that, they will allocate enough resources to assist those who have contributed nothing they way they did at the beginning of the pandemic. Do you remember 24Million Euro?

With regard to India, India is one of the leading manufacturers of drugs. So India will be in the mix. As a matter of fact, she has developed her own vaccine. How about that?

The problem they think that traditional medicine, herbs or whatever you want to call them don't have safety and efficacy issues. They do.

This fellow has made his way to this debate. Here's the thing. He isn't helping anybody and probably he makes things worse. For me people who don't have expertise in medicine should shut up. It is simple as that.

Isn't that a brave approach, amidst online hysteria from detractors with hidden agenda?

You are painting Tanzania as if strategy ya kitaifa ni wagonjwa wa korona huchukuliwa kupelekekwa kupigwa nyungu au nyumba za ibada kuombewa badala ya kutibiwa hospitali. That straw-man claim is far removed from reality on the ground.

I am very connected to the country and know what's going on there. The strategy was to take a bet that we could live with disease the way have lived with other diseases. And since nobody knew the characteristics of the disease, taking a bet wasn't a bad idea and it was a 50 50 proposition. If the disease hadn't reappeared, our bet would have been a stroke of the genius. As a matter of fact, it was a brilliant idea for few months until the second wave spoiled the party.

You can't compare what we have in Tanzania and what is going on in Florida or Sweden. Sweden has changed course because the herd immunity didn't work very well. With regard to Florida, that is a rogue state the way we are.

Do you know why Tanzania is called bongo land? After the Uganda war the economic situation was so bad and the government had no answer for that. So people had to improvise and use their creativities (bongo) in order to survive.

I think the same thing is happening right now. What you call a national strategy. Actually, it isn't. It's everybody for himself. Apply your survive instincts and skills and hope for the best.
