🎙Thomas Tuchel's Full Pre-Norwich Press Conference
🔹Thomas Tuchel confirms Romelu Lukaku, Timo Werner and Christian Pulisic are all ruled out of tomorrow's game against Norwich: "To make the question a longer one, how is Pulisic too? They are all out tomorrow and probably the Southampton game and then we will see. What I can tell you for sure is they are both in treamtent, positive and not worried but out of the next two games for sure."
🔹Thomas Tuchel: "No big news for Romelu and Timo. They are out tomorrow and out of Southampton. We will then see what's next. We won't get into speculation about how long it will be."
🔹Thomas Tuchel confirms Romelu Lukaku and Timo Werner will miss Carabao Cup tie vs Southampton.
🔹Thomas Tuchel: "Never a good thing [for players to be injured]. The role we have as favourites for some matches, was the perfect thing for Romelu, to take pressure and responsibility off of other players. We don't need to constantly rest players."
🔹Thomas Tuchel: "We cannot talk constantly about who is injured. We have to, and will find solutions because we trust our squad."
🔹Thomas Tuchel adamant he won't put a timescale on Romelu Lukaku's return: "Anything I say now would be pure speculation."
🔹Thomas Tuchel: "We want a full squad but accidents happen. From there, it sounds way more harsh, but it's about the players who are fit can play."
🔹Thomas Tuchel on regretting letting strikers leave due to current injury situation: "No, because football doesn't work like this. You can't keep a squad of 40 players. It's just a lot of bad luck. We are focused on that [finding solutions]. There is no worry."
🔹Thomas Tuchel: "We thought we can play with Timo or Kai at no.9 [before Romelu Lukaku's injury]. Kai is very strong in the last line, arriving in the box, it's a big strength. He did it against Malmo. This is more that we expect from him tomorrow."
🎙Thomas Tuchel's Full Pre-Norwich Press Conference - Part 2/2:
🔹Thomas Tuchel: "We want the same power, amount of people in the box when we finish our attacks. That does not change [with Romelu Lukaku's absence]."
🔹Thomas Tuchel on Kai Havertz: "There is only way to make it and stay on the pitch, that's performance. Kai wasn't at his highest level. It was necessary for him to wait some matches, others were in better shape. He did what he needed to do - work hard, determination to score. There is so much talent and potential there. He just needs to show it."
🔹Thomas Tuchel on Norwich City boss Daniel Farke: "I like him a lot, firstly as a person. Very nice and humble. He's a very good manager in terms of people management. I would've liked to be a player under him because he gives you a lot of confidence and trust. I hope we can have the better end tomorrow, to do everything to win. But he's doing a fantastic job."
🔹Thomas Tuchel on Billy Gilmour (1/2): "I love Billy. He decided to go to have a better chance to get some minutes. We want him to perform. If you decide to go on loan, it's as simple as that - you need to be on the pitch, perform, be a top player, if you want to make it here."
🔹Thomas Tuchel on Billy Gilmour (2/2): "He's our player. we love him, but changing a club is a huge risk, huge step. Now's not the time to speak about coming back. He just needs to show what he can do. No coach will leave the best players out, that's what he needs to prove. That Norwich is a better team with him."
🔹Thomas Tuchel on Romelu Lukaku (1/2): "The body didn't demand a break, it was an accident. He had a muscle injury. It's just some percentage. Please don't underestimate the effort these players go through. There's a lot of things going on, sometimes you get tired. If you constantly turn the wheel, be the top dog, you can get tired. Maybe 3/4/5 per cent. Maybe you lack the enthusiasm."
🔹Thomas Tuchel on Romelu Lukaku (2/2): "There is no major problem, we left him on the pitch and we felt him happy when we took the decision. I felt him totally in the match. Luck will come back, chances will be created. From now on, we make him come back as soon as possible, be positive. At the same time, we have to push the guys who are here."
🔹Thomas Tuchel on Hakim Ziyech (1/2): "It's maybe the sideline again. He fought his way into the team at the beginning of the season because of performance in pre-season. [The injury] cost him a lot. Maybe today I don't feel him 100 per cent free with the shoulders."
🔹Thomas Tuchel on Hakim Ziyech (2/2): "We started him several times [after injury] in Premier League and #UCL. Even if no pain, subconsciously, there is something that limits him in his movement and freedom to turn, to accelerate and decelerate. We need time, patience to fight his way back in the team. We will never lose trust and patience with him, he will stay an important player for sure."
