David Silva was largely kept quiet, as 10-man City struggled to create many chances in the final period. ​
 


Lampard came off the bench, and after Joloen Lescott handled in the penalty area, he scored the penalty to put Chelsea in front.




Chelsea mobbed Lampard, and the full time whistle blew shortly after as City's unbeaten Premier League start came to an end.​

A shining light in the driving rain and arguably the outstanding player on the pitch. Engineered both Chelsea goals, first by consummately beating Clichy and laying on the opener with his weaker foot and then forcing the Lescott handball. Clichy couldn't handle him before his sending-off.
