Kenya projects are always expensive coz as a free market economy, there are major obstacles of land compensation ( real and imaginary) unlike socialist countries like TZ where the government owns the land. If Kenya land system was similar to TZ, Kenya would be a first world by now. Sometimes land compensation costs as much if not more than the project itself due to market rates ( and they get exaggerated to some degree in such projects).

Every system has its strengths and weaknesses. But Capitalism creates more private wealth and empowers individuals as opposed to government control of every sphere of life. Tanzania government can do whatever it wants with land but on the other hand, Kenya can create more wealth opportunities since land is in private citizens hands.

Kenya has been building conference centers since independence. What kind of idiot believes we are copying from Tanzania when a conference center was actually one of the first mega projects Kenya undertook after gaining independence? You people will even say tunawacopy kupumua.
