Battle: Dar es Salaam vs Nairobi

You mean Ian Smith the brutal dictator, was a good leader? Where did you get this nonsense from?

The city is more of a European city than African. I have been thete on several occasions and I must say I loved it. If i were to live in SA then Cape Town would have been the place for me to settle.

Why it always has to be medications, why not looking into the real cause of the problem?
A person comes to you with elevated bp first thing you need to control it with medication then advise on lifestyle modifications later. You dont start lecturing a sick patient with elevated bp before you control it first.

i' ve just read from Mayo Clinic that,

their are two types of hypertensions, ie. Primary (or Essential) and Secondary Hypertension..

for Secondary Hypertension, the main cause can easily be identified and addressed where necessary eg. Stress, Alcoholism. etc, this type of condition may tend to strike in abruptly or suddenly and cause even higher blood pressure readings than in the case with Primary or Essential hypertension.. but the good news is.. this type of hypertension can fully get cured and be forgoten, once the precursor has been identified and brought under control.. but that only constitute less than 10% of all the hypertensive cases reported..

the rest 90% of the cases is wht is called primary or essential hypertension, in this case, blood pressure tends to build up gradually over several years, without any noticable sign or symptoms, but once it has developed, it's irreversible. one will have to live with this condition for the rest of his life, this type has got no particular cause that could be pinned down, and could be due to the fact tht the problem runs in ones family, ie. its inherited, etc.. but lifestyle modification eg. diet, exercise, weight control, may help control it, but if lifestyle changes fails to keep it in check, medication will be required to bring it down to accepted levels, but will never cure it! one will have to contend with medication use💊 for the rest of his/her life🥲. thts the sad side of the story

Income inequality is a hot topic in SA. Cape Town actually has one of Africa’s largest slums. The good parts are indeed attractive, but as a person of color, you’d most likely be unable to afford living a decent life compared to your white counterparts. So, you’d only go sightseeing around the posh parts of town, but you would be unable to have the real experience of living there.

The problem with most African countries, including Tanzania is we think urbanism is not something we should be concerned about. Our cities are literal engines driving our economies, yet we fail to realize their full potential. It’s easy to agree with the notions that disorganization and a lack of concern about our own welfare are stereotypical African characteristics. Look at our cities — filthy, disorganized, and unattractive. Do we feel comfortable living in these conditions? Does anyone even care?

No no no... you are totaly wronk! Mayo clinic says,

one must get an average of atleast two or more readings, taken at one minute apart,

on atleast three separate days, preferably one week apart,

And if on all the 3 occasions, one shows consistently high readings, then one is said to be diagnosed with hypertension and the drugs may then be instituted...

but one high reading on the first day is bullcrap! its totaly nothing! till you perform repeat tests to fully confirm

Another thing about urbanism is Beauty does matter. I’m not even talking about super tall buildings, just low-rise buildings that are designed creatively. Millions flock to visit European cities every year, not to see skyscrapers (Europe seems to hate them) but rather to experience the unique beauty of their traditional buildings.

Our cities could use some creativity. I’m not sure why we don’t have more buildings inspired by our traditional architecture. What if we could build townhouses inspired by Swahili/Zanzibari architecture? What if our streets had buildings that look more like “Ikulu?” Our architects must step up their game, their ugly “contemporary” designs are killing urban beauty!

Lol! He seems to have been EVERYWHERE. Dude once told me he had lived in Eastern United States and Europe. Usually I don’t question people about these things but the guy said he never saw AIR CONDITIONERS in Europe 😂😂

Sites like mayoclinic, webmd, are the biggest drug pusher on the internet, with google algorithm on their back.

i agree with you 101%, i have a somali friend who happen to have lived in cape town, till xenophobia caught up with him back in 2012. he told me renting a house is a total mess in capetown, and tht one may be working for a whole month just for the seek of house rent, and without saving anythng at all.! it may even subject one to hypertension and heartattack🤣 he told me its at par with Berlin,Germany🇩🇪
as in, real estate in capetown is infact the most 3xpensive in africa if not in the world, and u'll rarely find black people in decent housing estates there.
as you've just explained above, tht phenomena has compelled black pple subject to khayelitsha, which has spurred its growth to become among the biggest slums in africa!

Kuna mjeda yeyote aliyebaki kweli?

Baada ya kuipunguza hiyo BP wauguzi huwa hawaendelei kuwasaidia wagonjwa kutafuta kiini cha tatizo.
