Kikwete picks envoys to Japan, Saudi Arabia and Burundi
PRESIDENT Jakaya Kikwete has appointed new ambassadors to Japan, Saudi Arabia and Burundi to fill vacant posts. The appointments take immediate effect.

A statement issued today by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Co-operation said that Ms Salome Sijaona (pictured above) has been appointed Ambassador to Japan to replace Ambassador Elly Mtango who has retired.

Ms Sijaona formerly served as the Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Lands, Housing and Human Settlements Development.

The statement said that the president has appointed Prof Abdillah Omari as Tanzania ambassador to Saudi Arabia, to replace retired Judge Khamis Msumi who has retired. Before the appointment, Prof Omari served as the Director of Centre of International Relations in Dar es Salaam.

President Kikwete has also appointed Dr James Nzagi to be Tanzanias Ambassador to Burundi, replacing retired Brigadier General Francis Mndolwa who has retired. Before his appointment, Dr Nzagi served as a director in the Presidents Office.

Zawadi ya Kisiasa kwa Mama Sijaona.......uteuzi huo bado haumzuii kugombea ubunge..........na nia yake bado ipo.....

Hongera sana Mama Sijaona.......umefanya kazi kwenye mazingira magumu sana na kwa uadilifu.........huyu mama ni mmoja wa mifano ya kuigwa kiutendaji

Mama Sijaona nenda katumie uzoefu wako kuimarisha chachu ya mahusiano na nchi ya Japan na hasa kwenye miradi ya maendeleo (elimu, Kilimo), uwekezaji na utalii..............

Hili ni 1 million dollar question!! Mama sijaona amestaafu na kuagwa kama mtumishi wa serikali, lakini amepata ajira nyingine!!!

Kweli aliye nacho ataongezewa, sasa sijui huyo anayerithiwa Japan ana miaka 80 au 90?
 
kwa hiyo mama sijaona akiondoka na utii na uaminifu wake at 60 yrs haitoshi? haya JK amewaahidi wa TZ serikali ya vijana akipewa kura mwakani.

..Dr.James Nzagi ndiye Nzagi anayetajwa hapo chini na Yoweri Museveni?

In 1979, when the Ugandan exiles, supported by Tanzania, decided to overthrow Idi Amin
Dada, Kabila was incorporated by the Tanzanian troops among various armed groups to get a
first hand experience of modern warfare. According to Uganda exiles, Kabila stayed in
Uganda and became close to the Museveni group until they went to the bush in 1980. Kabila
later fell out with Nyerere because of their disagreement over Kabila's lifestyle. Nyerere
criticised Kabila for being too autocratic in his guerrilla movement and too involved in illicit
business, which later led to the cutting off of contacts with the Tanzanian security services.
President Museveni refers to a slightly different version of his first meeting with Kabila in his
speech, "Background to the situation in the Great Lakes region"1. Museveni said that he met
Kabila for the first time in 1986 after taking over power in Uganda: "He was coming out of
Tanzania where he had apparently lived.

While in Tanzania during the anti-Amin struggle, I heard of Mr. Kabila, having some bases in the eastern mountains of Congo, around Kalemie,but I had never met him. He was introduced to me by a Tanzanian Intelligence officer that I had known by name of James Nzagi."

In this first meeting with Museveni, Kabila is said to have asked for arms but was given two
conditions: not to operate on the Uganda-Congo border, "given the prejudice that existed in the
region against us for having come to power through a protracted people's struggle. Some of
the leaders thought that we were a bad example and that we would influence their people,"
Museveni wrote in his speech. The other condition was that Kabila was to get official
permission to transport the arms through Tanzania to his bases in eastern Congo. "In order to
do this, H.E. President Mwinyi's [the then Tanzanian head of state] consent had to be sought.
Mr. Kabila however failed to secure President Mwinyi's concurrence. We therefore did not
proceed on the question of arms but I gave him a modest financial contribution apart from
linking him with the Libyans to see if they could assist him in any way without involving
Uganda."

Kwa ufupi huyu mama ni strong na aliweza sana kupambana kwa kiasi kikubwa na ufisadi wa pale ardhi. Ardhi palikuwa pabovu sana kule mwanzoni. Sijui katibu mkuu mpya pale ataweza kuwa smart kama mama Sijaona??!!!

Utumishi uliotukuka sawa, ila amestaafu huku anaenda kumpokea mwingine aliyestaafu kule...uwiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiii!!!!!

Sasaivi utasikia Mwanyika anakuwa katibu mkuu kumpokea anayestaafu, na Arthur Mwakapugi anaenda kumpokea balozi Adadi baada ya kustaafu

Mabalozi umri wa kustaafu ni miaka 60 kama mfanyakazi yoyote serikalini lakini pia kama mfanyakazi yoyote mwingine anaweza kufanya kazi kwa mkataba baada ya hapo. Tatizo kwenye hizi presidential appointments kuna motives nyingi ila mimi nadhani kama kweli mtu alikua mchapakazi na anaonekana ni yeye ndiyo anafaa katika nafasi fulani basi siyo vibaya kumuongezea muda kidogo baada ya umri wa kustaafu. Sijui if that's the case na huyu mama.
