Aliko Dangote has once again expressed his interest in buying Arsenal.
The billionaire stated he’ll attempt a takeover some time in 2021.
Before that he plans to complete his other projects.
Arsenal are currently exclusively owned by Stan Kroenke.
Africa richest man, billionaire Aliko Dangote, has set his sights on buying out Arsenal from Stan Kroenke - as soon as 2021.
Dangote made an appearance on the David Rubenstein show and said: "[Arsenal] is a team that I would like to buy some day.
“But what I keep saying is we have $20billion worth of projects and that's what I really want to concentrate on. I'm trying to finish building the company and then after we finish, maybe some time in 2021 we can.
"I'm not buying Arsenal right now, I'm buying Arsenal when I finish all these projects, because I'm trying to take the company to the next level."
Aliko Dangote owns almost 85% of the publicly-traded Dangote Cement. He also has stakes in salt, sugar and flour manufacturing companies.
But perhaps his biggest running project is the Dangote Refinery, which is currently under construction and is expected to be the world’s biggest oil refinery once complete.
Arsenal are exclusively owned by Kroenke Sports Entertainment (KSE), i.e. Stan Kroenke after Alisher Usmanov sold his shares to the American last year and the minority shareholders were forced into compulsory sales.
Kroenke has been Arsenal’s majority shareholder since 2011. Many argue the Gunners’ decline in the last decade is heavily linked to Kroenke's absent style of management as well as complete refusal to invest in the club.
