BREAKING: Atletico Madrid reportedly reach personal terms with Arsenal's Santi Cazorla

by TomConn | Posted on Wednesday, July 17th, 2013

According to Onda Cero's Al Primer Toque and Spanish sports daily Marca, Atletico reached an agreement with Cazorla for the former Malaga star to make his way back to Spain and join the Champions League bound Colchoneros.
However, Atletico Madrid must still negotiate terms of the transfer with Arsenal, who are not likely to sell the breakout Spanish international for the €24 million they paid Malaga last summer.
While details on the agreement remain scarce, it is believed that Cazorla's price tag will be upwards of €30 million, if he were to be sold.
Cazorla's arrival will signal the end of the club's interest in Wolfsburg midfielder, Diego Ribas, who had been longing for a move back to the Spanish capital.

My opinion is that all this is rubbish. The inner part does not agree that we are going to sell our best player AGAIN. But after what has been happening in the previous seasons, I cannot rule it out.
:disapointed:

Tangu Ivan Gazidis aseme we are looking to strengthen and we will spend big, it has been ages. And its all very familiar, just consider the following statements coming from the board for the past 9 years:

‘There are some revenue streams before 2006 which will enable us to spend more on the transfer budget – receipt of land sales and some money from Granada Media.' – managing director Keith Edelman, February 2004.

‘There are sufficient funds available to the manager.'
– Edelman, September 2005.

'…the effect means we can spend more on transfers over the next 15 years.' – Edelman, May 2006.

‘If Arsene came to us and said he wanted to spend £40m on a player we could do that.'
– Edelman, Sept 2007.

‘We remain firmly committed to substantial investment in the playing squad.' – Chairman Peter Hill-Wood, Sept 2008.

‘We've got a substantial amount of money to invest.'
– chief executive Ivan Gazidis, Sept 2009.

‘The club is secure – we have sufficient funds to invest.' – Gazidis, May 2010.

‘In January and in the summer there will be significant funds available to bolster the team.'
– Gazidis, Sept 2011.

‘All the money we make is available to the manager.'
– Gazidis, May 2012.

‘It's all about giving us the capability to go to the manager and say "here is the money for you to compete".'
– Gazidis, June 2013.

Mpaka sasa tumemsajili Sanogo tu...tena BURE!! Mimi sipingi kusajili watoto because every team does that lakini kama kila siku ndo tunasajili wachezaji wenye 'potential' sidhani kama tuna malengo mazuri ya sasa. Tutakuwa tunarudia makosa yaleyale. We are very good at naming players then wanaenda team nyingine. Mfano wa juzijuzi, Mata. David Villa ameuzwa kwa pound milioni 4.6 kama sikosei (We could have bought him and another striker). We should be competing now. We need big players, we need game changers, resilience, we need depth and most of all, WE NEED WINNERS!! I will support my team kama kawaida lakini I won't say I will be optimistic if we will not strengthen our squad even though it is obvious kuna mapengo kibao (I won't even get started on this). We may have finished well but if we need trophies we also need to add QUALITY.

Prof. kachema mambo ya usajili ni siri chacha nyie mnataka kumchagulia timu? Si muwe mameneja mjichagulie wachezaji wenu? Wacha prof. afanye kazi yake ....... ....... ameshasema mlango bado uko wazi ngojeni mlango ufungwe halafu muanze kusema kawaongopea.
