African Satellite World and Sat Gear

African Satellite World and Sat Gear

Hello Highland patrons
Are the new additions I. e ntv and qtv still available? . Am thinking of going terrestrial cause the signet and bamba are finally available in my locality.

Hi Jey,
By the time of me going to press, Ntv was on but Qtv was blank. Currently I am away from my set. Some other member should confirm here. Thanks.

which satellite is Eutelsat 7B and 7A? who can i track it thks.

They both are on 7e. Tracking this bird is a delicate balancing act that depends on your location and what equipment. Above all there's an important equipment required: PATIENCE

My Sat-link WS-6906 satellite meter crashed last week! So am back to the tried-and-proven old school method of climbing roof with decoder, TV (any size and type will do) and other tracking tools!
On the day shown in the attached picture, some place up-country, there was a power black-out at 5Pm just one minute after I began swinging the dish this way and that way ….…. And power did not return until after midnight! I almost climbed back to the roof to continue at 1Am for fear that power would disappear again the following day ………. Only a couple of thousand sleepless, hungry mosquitoes discouraged me! Just an episode to reveal how useful a Satlink gadget can be ……………

Sorry bro for the confusion. If you already are getting goodies on 7e, then you are good to go. The goodies on tp 12521H27500 seem to have left the bird. Let's wait and see where they re-appear.

Nash,
Sorry about you sat meter. Kweli hii ASAS itatuua. I hope it gets repaired. Allow me to introduce you to my world of budget tp/bird/goodies hunting. In my tool bag (that's what my son calls it), I have two sat finders (analogue and digital) that I bought at ksh. 2k. Then I have a TV/AV/FM USB stick. This stick allows me to connect the stb to my laptop, thus saves me the heavy load of transporting the TV to the roof. So the last time I was on the roof, I just bundled my stb inside my laptop bag, together with the laptop, and off I went. I looked like a mountain climber! So this is what you do...
1. Visit our usual base and buy the sat meter(s) (as you wait for the Sat-link to be repaired)
2. On your way there/from there, pass by a computer accessories shop and buy the TV/AV/FM dongle. BTW, check if they have a digital one in the market now. The one I have is analogue, so it does not get the DTV signal. If you get that one, you can actually use it also to get the DTV as well as FM signals.
3. Thank me :wink2:

See what I mean here...

First check on the strong website to see if your product is listed there, even if amongst the discontinued products. If yes, then it probably can be of BISS utility to you. If not, too bad. Fake receivers often do not take software updates.

I have the sister 6908 which I find too sensitive for me to be comfortable, I usually use the analogue one to lock then the 6908 to finetune.
