When one's mouth utter nonsense, his/her conscience is out of control. The fact that these people see the importance of formal education this time than ever (used to think that religious education is all about in life) and deny it to their children will always pose stiff challenge to our unity. They claim that they are failed by the Tanganyika regime under the NECTA umbrella while the truth remain that most of them in their schools use much of their time learning religious issues and guided on how to behave and hate what they call KAFIR be at low levels or higher levels of learning. it is not wonderful that children are forced to attend MADRASA and forget to insist them reflect or re-learn on what they learned at school!!! still they claim that they are failed.

Why is Nyerere considered an enemy to these people? Did he force their leader to unite with Tanganyika? Did he by any means use force to do so?

Till I am laid in grave, I shall condemn those who brought their RELIGION in Africa be it Europeans or Arabs. I hate the names attached to our great leader as said by that lady calling him "THE CURSED". If it wasn't him I am quite sure she wouldn't be in the position to stand and say those nonsense nowadays.

May God forgive her and those behind the scene of that move.

Muungano wa kweli ni serikali 1 Lakini hili nalisemea huku huku bara nikiwa znz sisubutu kulitamka kwa usalama wa uhai wangu. Wznzr wamechoka mchoko wa kujikatia tamaa wakiamini uchovu walio nao umeletwa na Muungano na waasisi wake hasa JKN. Ukizungumza na wznzbr hupati nafasi ya kumsifia Jkn na hupati nafasi ya kumtetea pia. Kwao ni adui asie sameheka. Nahofia znz kujitawala bila serikali ya JMT kuwepo znz nahisi mengi ikiwepo visasi kujirudia na mipasuko ya kikabila na kimadhebu. Mungu apishe mbali haya ninayo yafikiria.

No sane Zanzibaris is denying a child to get formal education, with no reasonable doubt NECTA is known to favour Christians.Kigoma Malema who started the system of examination numbers was one of yours, he did not come from Zanzibar! Why would he even bother, he ?

Unfortunately, what he fought is still tormenting Zanzibar to date.I will give you just a simple fact to show you that its not that hard for a NECTA'S examination officer/employee to detect whether a student is from Zanzibar or Tanganyika.

Being aware that this student is from Zanzibar plus a probability of +98% Muslims.We are back to Malima's dilemma who fought to put examination numbers to constrain some specific (religious background info) info during corrections of the examination papers.

This is true as the numbering system in NECTA is not a random system, but sequential one.Meaning its not hard to know that school ranging from 10 - 20 are from Zanzibar....Even a secondary school kid can detect that with simple math!

Thats what I think at-least....May be I also did not get formal education 🙂

Masatu! i think before condemning others for calling nyerere Enemy you should understand what they went through!

I am a Tanzanian born and bred!
And I say this!

I hate that old geezer called Nyerere to the bottom of my heart!

He caused so many pain cognizance to most of us!

He run the country like a dictator!

Forced people from their Homes to so called vijiji vya ujamaa! Which some of them ending up in lions jaws!
While him and his misuse slump and put one feet up in butiama!

He use force to steal people's properties! And some of them never get their belonging back until this day!

He was a sick individual who made up law's as he goes along!

He locked up thousands in prison without a Court procedures!

And he was so imperious! So much so that He use to praised himself and boasting for doing so!

Back in his time I was locked up for 3days simply because I smells good! How pathetic is that!?

And today someone is got the guts to call him a hero!??

He used to sing a song of "Tanzania has NO RELIGION"! But he was the First to priorities his own brother's in faith!

And in return, his fellow galatians wants to honour his dead body a "SAINT"!

That makes me overwrought! And disarray! I want to throw up!

And that So called "UNION" was done between Him and his mate Karume AND NO ONE WAS INVOLVED TO A Decision making!

So that Union by the Law is
prosecutable! and bootleg!

I am just glad he is not with us anymore!

I understand, but with due respect, I don't believe assigning names like the cursed, you coming with old geezer, imperious, it won't leave behind the fact that he did his job thinking on how he could make the Tanzania we wanted a better place to live in his own regime's form. He declared that as a being he sometimes did mistakes and that he regretted for his life.

At least people should show him some respect and not be overwhelmed by their religious feelings in challenging his doings. Why are they not blaming Karume? What else have those after him done to give them what they want? Are they not Muslims? Is there any Christian who has ruled Zanzibar? If the answer is no, then why should his Christianity be taken as a point of weaknesss?

You might have gone through and experienced hardships during his regime, but I strongly believe it wasn't on religion bases. If you are rational, you might also think that even your father sometimes did what you would say today was irrational and bad to you, but you won't deny the truth that he raised you good and did a lot of sacrifice to ensure you get better life. That I believe remain the same to the late father of our nation. No wonder that we are of different religious inclination but we are all the same before God/Allah. The fight for independent Zanzibar (as they claim to be; wondering if it has not been independent: the 12th January revolution then was for what?) should not have religious tone as it leaves out a lot of doubts on what really is the driving force?
