US Election Coverage 2008

..it's slowing down.

..unajua, pamoja na kuwa upande wa dems [b'se bush has messed up big time, and this is threatening to bring down the world economy,of which i do mind big time] sijali sana nani anakuwa POTUS. marekani itaendelea kuwa nchi binafsi siku zote,no matter who is in control.

..point is, gop hawa wakishika basi mambo ndio yatakuwa hovyo kabisa. hasa huyo mama, bora hata babu. yani itakuwa balaa tupu.

..i'm watching!

I think that from I get you said ON THE DEMOCRATIC SIDE ie whether it is Obama, Hillary, BIden etc. BUt if you meantin general you don't care who gets into power I think you know the answer - Dubya Bush!!A disaster and it has been a nightmare, huwezi kulinganisha na miaka ya Clinton!

More BAD news for McCain - anazidi kuumbuka na kudhibitishiwa kuwa ni ZERO katika economy!!
Greenspan: Country Can't Afford McCain's Tax Cuts

Alan Greenspan says the country can't afford tax cuts of the magnitude proposed by Republican presidential contender John McCain - at least not without a corresponding reduction in government spending.
"Unless we cut spending, no," the former Federal Reserve chairman said Friday when asked McCain's proposed tax cuts, pegged in some estimates at $3.3 trillion.

"I'm not in favor of financing tax cuts with borrowed money," Greenspan said during an interview with Bloomberg Television. "I always have tied tax cuts to spending."

McCain has said that he would offset his proposed cuts - including reducing the corporate tax rate and eliminating the Alternative Minimum Tax that has plagued middle-class families - by ending congressional pork-barrel spending, unnecessary government programs and overhauling entitlement programs such as Medicare and Social Security.

Democrats pounced on Greenspan's comments, in part because McCain professed last year that he was weaker on economics than foreign affairs and was reading Greenspan's memoir, "The Age of Turbulence," to educate himself.

"Obviously he needs to go back to that book and study it some more," Sen. Claire McCaskill, D-Mo., said during a conference call arranged by the campaign of Democratic nominee Barack Obama.

..Alan is a genius!

..game theory, have you read his book?

Actually, greenspan was harshly criticized that he caused the mortgage meltdown and the recession. Criticism came from the left AND the right. But I think we can all agere that he probably is one of the most influential voices when it comes to economy!!! Paul Volcker, by the way, has endorsed Obama!!!

DSL: Obama akiwa sworn in in January kuna mabadiliko makubwa yatatokea everywhere else especially Africa. Mi naamini he has already inspired anumbero f European poltiicans to try and redefine the way poltiics is played. Lakini Afrika bado tumelala. But his victory itaondoa kidogo kale ka inferiority complex that we share as Africans. Also it will inspire minorities in many countries to demand a place at the table. I agree Marekani itabidi wawe mfano mzuri, and I think despite all the gloom and doom, Americans will not disappoint us.

Yaanu siamini ujinga wa watu humu ndani. Unataka kuniambia ni GOP waliokuwa wanauza hizo waffles? Zilikuwa zinauzwa kwenye grocery store(s) gani?

I have to take my hat off Mzee Gasolina Makopo kwa kumchagua Palin!

Makopo has manage for the past 2 weeks to divert the attention from him and the association to Bush to Media and Pundits obsession with Palin.

While everyone is focusing on Palin and her demerits, McCain is cruising under the radar and democratgic message on Change, Economy and Anti-Bush is evaporating in thin air!

If Media could get it's s h i t together, McCain surge will slow

By the way Nyani, uliona ile orgy ya the View dhidi ya Makopo na Bibi yako?

yeah...I saw it and it left no doubt as to who they are supporting.......

DSL,

Problem ni kuwa influence ya Palin kwa hao "blue Collar-Middle Whit America" is gaining a superficial momentum kama vile Joji Mjinga alivyompiku Al Gore na John Kerry!

It is scary how this group of voters think, similar to people who vote for CCM for better or Worse!

They do not think outside the box, to them it is not about economy or even security as Bush tried to plant fear of Devil on Americans, it is about "values" Anti Gay, Anti Abortion, Anti-Affirmative Action, Guns, Jesus and if they could do it openly Anti-Semitism!

Wao they are never fazed by poverty or inequallity, they do not care about balance of wealth or equal opportunity.

For the first time in a long period of time in US , we may have a President elected not for his merits but because of his vice president choice!

When you state you visited a place, it means you have actually visited the place and not a stop over on route to somewhere else! It would have been better if she would have stated she has been in Ireland on her way to Kuwait or that she visited US troops in Kuwait near the border with Iraq!

For a minute I thought she was different, now we are finding out that she is McSame like the Washington she belittles!

..kuna argument nyingine zinatolewa hapa, yaani zinatia kichefuchefu kweli......!! haya waTZ, endeleeni kukata issues! LOL.

This is the problem you liberals have: you look down on people who see things differently. They have different opinions on issues. For example, most of them oppose affirmative action and view it as reverse racism. Now, that is not necessarily a value issue. To them it could very well be an economic issue. If you are a white guy and got bypaased for job position and a black guy was given the job simply because of his race, are you gonna be happy? I know I wouldn't.

Bottom is line is this: I think many people vote based on emotions rather than issues. Very few have the time and desire to sit down, compare and contrast the pros and cons of each candidate. If people see that you relate to them in their values, beliefs, and etc. then you are more likely to get their vote. Did it surprise anybody when black folks overwhelmingly backed Obama over the wife of the so called first black president? It sure didn't surprise me. Just go the hood and see how black folks are excited. A majority of them don't even care about the issues. It's about the first black president, end of story.

jumapili njema.

Hivi umeona toka jana Conservative Shows wanavyoonyesha The View siku alipoenda Michelle Obama na jana ya Makeni, inaonyesha wazi kuwa kuna bias maana Michelle hakuulizwa maswali kabisa, kama jana Mkakeni vitu kama hivi vinasiadia sana kuwapa moyo na kuwaunganisha The Base ya Republicans, lakini havisadii sana kwenye kuwasiadia Democrats.

Bado niko stressed out!

...wewe DuNyani,

unaionaje hiyo hapo juu!? inachefua...

More than 70% of Americans are not happy with the direction of their country. More than 75% no longer support Iraq's invasion and they would like to see the end of that unnecessary war asap. Americans' economy is underperfoming in many areas. Usually in many western countries when citizens are unhappy with the performance of the party in power, they always take necessary action on the ballot box to punish that party, but it seems this year many are not ready to see a black person in the WH. IMO, that is a big shame and it shows America has a long way to go before it can elect a president from another race, but I am still hopeful that voters will do the right thing to punish and remove Republicans from WH

Don't start playing the race card it won't work. In fact playing the race card only hurts Barack Obantu. He will be seen as another race bait politician and that is the last thing he needs right now. It's amazing to me that you couldn't come up with any other logical explanation of why Obantu is struggling in the polls right now when he clearly should be way ahead other than Americans are not ready for a black president. Americans gave Obantu a chance, they voted for him in the Iowa caucases but remember that was before his dubious associations came out in the open. So Americans aren't as racist as you are painting them to be. I believe Americans would vote for someone like Colin Powell very easily so it is not Obantu's race that he is struggling in the polls. Go back and look at the reasons I listed on this thread.
