Just got this somewhere!!!!!!!
Two years as governor. A bachelor's degree in journalist . A Miss Alaska pageant winner. An ongoing investigation for abuse of power in allegations of using influence to remove her sister's divorced husband from the State police. How was she vetted? What does she bring to a McCain presidency? She doesn't seem to provide anything to shore up McCain admitted weakness on economics -- Carly Fiorini [sp?] must be ####. Is she really expected to stand on a stage next to Biden and debate him on national and foreign affairs? With McCain's age and cancer history there is the very real possibility that she WILL have to step up into the highest office. I don't get it. What was McCain thinking? Have I missed something?

Nakwambia huyu mama we acha tu. Miezi minne au mitano iliyopita kajifungua mtoto mwenye down's syndrome na alijua tokea mwamzo wa ujauzito wake lakini akaamua kuibakiza mimba. That is a solid conservative right there. She could have chosen to abort the baby but erred on the side of life. That's what's up....

Hamna karata zozote hapo, huyu mama ni pro life na ana watoto watano wa mwisho ana miezi kama miwili. Hillary supporters ni Pro choice, Pili huyu mama huwezi kumlinganisha na Hillary hata kwa 5%. Issue sio wanawake issue ni policies.

DENVER - John McCain tapped little-known Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin to be his vice presidential running mate on Friday in a startling selection on the eve of the Republican National Convention.

Two senior campaign officials disclosed Mccain's decision a few hours before the Republican presidential nominee-to-be and his newly-minted running mate appeared at a rally in swing-state Ohio.

Palin is a self-styled hockey mom and political reformer who has been governor of her state less than two years.

Palin's selection shocked numerous Republican officials.

In making his pick, Mccain passed over several more prominent prospects who had figured in speculation for months — Minnesota Gov. Tim Pawlenty, former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney and former Pennsylvania Gov. Tom Ridge among them.

At 44, Palin is a generation younger that Sen. Joseph Biden of Delaware, who is Barack Obama's running mate on the Democratic ticket.

She is three years Obama's junior, as well — and McCain has made much in recent weeks of Obama's relative lack of experience in foreign policy and defense matters.

Palin flew overnight to an airport in Ohio near Dayton, and even as she awaited her formal introduction, some aides said they had believed she was at home in Alaska.

She is a former mayor of Wasilla who became governor of her state in December, 2006 after ousting a governor of her own party in a primary and then dispatching a former governor in the general election.

More recently, she has come under the scrutiny of an investigation by the Republican-controlled legislature into the possibility that she ordered the dismissal of Alaska's public safety commissioner because he would not fire her former brother-in-law as a state trooper.

Rep. Jim Clyburn on South Carolina ETV Radio:

"I do believe that McCain has to do something to reshuffle the cards, shake up the establishment, do something unexpected and Governor Palin has all the kinds of things that McCain might see as a way to shake things up. I think [her selection] would be something similar to Dan Quayle. Dan Quayle proved to be sort of an embarrassment as a campaigner. Being thrust on a national stage like that could be very tough. Now Mondale tried to shake things up by going with Geraldine Ferraro.she proved to be a disaster as a running mate. And as a campaigner, she was absolutely awful. And so I just think that it is very risky for McCain to do this, but it may be all he has left."

Looking for a quick reaction, and likely endorsement, of John McCain's surprise pick of Sarah Palin as his running mate this morning, CNN turned to Sen. Kay Bailey Hutchison, the experienced Texan who was also on McCain's short list for the post.

But, asked about Palin, all Hutchison could muster, just before the official announcement, was a few generalities about "spirit" and "enthusiasm," before admitting, "I don't know much about her."

CNN's John King then asked, well, what does it mean that such a longtime GOP leader such as yourself doesn't know much about her when McCain in his ads is hitting Obama on his lack of experience? Palin has served as governor of her state for only two years. Hutchison repeated her earlier statements about "youth" and said flatly, "I don't know Sarah Palin," adding maybe that it was a "good thing" that she is fresh and not that well known.

Pressed again about why she would think that Palin was ready to be commander in chief, a charge leveled at Obama, Hutchison could only muster that, well, she was sure John McCain had sat down with her and was convinced of this.

CNN's John Roberts then said that what we do know is that she can eat a mooseburger, drive a snowmobile and fire a rifle. A few minutes later, CNN was reporting on an ethics probe of Palin in Alaska surrounding the state firing her brother-in-law, a state trooper involved in a "messy" divorce with her sister.

Meanwhile, Carl Cameron over at Fox was reporting that Palin is known as a big hockey fan and everyone know that hockey fans are really "blue-collar." So this will allegedly help the ticket win Minnesota, Wisconsin, and so forth.
