Let us looking at things perspectively and factually;
1). Fastjet is not majority owned by Tanzanians
2). Fastjet appointed a nominated advisor in December last year, Enterprise Growth Market Advisors Ltd to fasttrack 51% ownership by Tanzanians.
3).KCAA noted the lack of substantial local ownership which was against the spirit of BASA, and asked Fastjet to remedy the same before the second hearing.
4).Fastjet is still in the process of ensuring local ownership in line with BASA as it eyes the lucrative Kenyan routes.
So untill the majority ownership is sorted out Fastjet will not be allowed access to JKIA. So our Tanzanians brothers should be thanking KCAA for this. Some elements in GoT wanted to blackmail KCAA to give Fastjet landing rights using all manner of scapegoats from tour operators to Kenya Airways, but they have been kamikazed.
Before you diarrhoea with anti–Kenya sentiments, hold your leaders and technocrat accountable for their selfish fronting of Fastjet as Tanzanian designate Airline without even majority ownership by Tanzanians.
On a light note, advise Fastjet to be issuing their communiques in Kiswahili so that you can understand issues easily instead of ranting aimlessly for a private Airline, support Precision and maybe we can sympathise.
