Yes there's racial issues. But he won in 2008 decisively. So if the tribes of white people in America didn't like him, they would't voted for him in 2008.
Additionally, Obama is biracial and people who elevated his profile to prominence are white. So I don't know why the work of few and very vocal racists should invalidate the good work of other white who have helped Obama throughout his life.
2008 is very different from the present. Obama had his chance then and he has been unable to deliver to the satisfaction of the American people. Still he can get away with it because even though things are not looking rosy, he is not the one who caused the problem in the first place. White males, the wealthy, young whites from rich families and most mormons are voting romney. A huge proportion of coloured folks, the elderly and majority of american women and middle class young people are voting for obama. If obama will sail through it will be because of women vote or something that will come up between now and election time in romney's camp. If I were Obama I would do it the african way. I would announce that it is now fact that Romney has investments in Iran and that it is proven he has cheated on paying taxes. By the time he complains elections are over. It is called chakachuaring.
